show moreHost: Welcome to Ability Anyware Radio. This is a disability advocacy podcast. Today is Tuesday, November 20, 2018. The Tuesday before Thanksgiving and a week before #GivingTuesday. We are raising money for completion of our film, "Besties in NYC", a reality film about millennials with disabilities, and its related multimedia projects. The film will be promoted via our disability advocacy magazine, Ability Anyware Digital Quarterly or AADQ. The stars of the film are featured in AADQ Fall 2018 Issue on the cover and in our STELLAR section on page 5) & in AADQ Winter Issue 2018 on page 11. Interviews with the stars will be streamed on Ability Anyware Radio via Spreaker. Transcripts will be available for Deaf and Hard of Hearing viewers.
This video journal of 2 young women who are native New Yorkers with disabilities living in New York City. Funds will be used to cover the costs for artists with disabilities, camera operators, and essential workers involved in the film's production, accessibility (captioning, ASL interpreters at intersectional disability events), marketing, distribution, purchasing of cameras and equipment, software, assistive technology, timely wheelchair accessible transportation, as well as providing healthy meals to artists and consultants with disabilities actively participating in the planning and shooting of the film. Donations from socially conscious individuals like you will help these young ladies make it to the big screen and increase representation of women with disabilities in the media! It will also enable us to enter the project for consideration at film festivals! Feel good about how you spend your dollars and play an integral role in investing in our human potential!
You can support our project by donating to our GoFundMe page at https://www.gofundme.com/fund-besties-nyc-film or becoming a Kilobyte Sponsor. Kilobyte sponsors will get their names etched in our Ability Anyware's 2018 Digital Wall of Sponsors. You can also support us by purchasing an advertisement in our publication or on our website, becoming an 8-bit sponsor for $8, or donating at an individualized level that is comfortable for you by emailing us at info@abilityanyware.com to specify the amount that you would like to contribute. More information on our projects can be found at www.abilityanyware.com. Thank you to all our supporters and have a Happy Thanksgiving!
