She is an multidisciplinary artist and writer from Aotearoa New Zealand and focuses on sense of place, specifically in her home town of Hauraki. Her work finds intersections of ecology and Māori Mātauranga traditional knowledge. Ashleigh tells us how she works with wetlands and rock, collaborating with the natural world, as well as with her own heritage and experts from different fields, to find and give voice to connections and memories. In this interview she tells us more about the use of technology in artistic practice, sensitivity to data, and solastalgia. Viaggiando tra concerti virtuali, le spiagge degli Alberoni di Venezia, e il deposito globale di semi delle Svalbard, Silvia esplora la rilevanza di piante e semi dai nostri giardini alle foreste e come le piante possono ispirare un'arte militante. EN In this episode we interviewed director and communication expert Silvia Chiodin, who talked with us about the importance art holds in imagining and envisioning new futures of conservation. She tells the stories and goals of the association Artists for Plants she is part of, an association that bases its imaginative practices on the link between plants and the arts. Fa parte di FADA Collective, un gruppo di giornalist*, fotograf*, videomaker, autori e autrici indipenderti che si occupano di diritti, ambiente, migrazione, società e minoranze. Con lei abbiamo parlato di come l'ambiente e i cambiamenti climatici siano correlati a diritti delle donne, caporalato, conflitti, migrazioni e sfruttamento di vario tipo. Abbiamo poi indagato il ruolo del giornalismo quando si tratta di cambiamenti climatici e di come si può migliorare la comunicazione. EN In the second episode of the new season the guest is Sara Manisera, an independent author and reporter who works in Italy and the Middle East. She is part of the FADA Collective, a group of independent journalists, photographers, videomakers, and authors who deal with rights, the environment, migration, society, and minorities. We talked about how the environment and climate change are related to women's rights, illegal hiring, conflicts, migrations, and exploitation of various kinds. We then investigated the role of journalism when it comes to climate change and how communication can be improved.

E' direttore di Pikaia, un portale dedicato all’evoluzione in tutte le sue forme. Grazie al suo campo di studi ampio e alle sue esperienze in svariati ambiti, abbiamo parlato dell'importanza della divulgazione e di come questa sia cambiata negli anni. La conversazione ha toccato anche altri aspetti, fra cui il ruolo delle università, l'importanza della geografia, e l'Antropocene! The first professor in Italy of Philosophy of Biological Sciences, he also teaches bioethics and naturalistic dissemination. He is the director of Pikaia, a portal dedicated to evolution in all its forms. Thanks to his broad field of study and experiences in various areas, we talked about the importance of disclosure and how it has changed over the years. The conversation also touched on other aspects, including the role of universities, the importance of geography, and the Anthropocene! Gholam arriva in Europa dopo essere passato per Pakistan, Iran, e Turchia, e ora vive e lavora in Italia da molti anni. La sua storia è molto rilevante non solo perché è una testimonianza diretta di cosa vuol dire migrare ed essere un rifugiato, ma anche perché ci aiuta a vedere i cambiamenti climatici come un fenomeno strettamente connesso anche alla guerra e ad altri fenomeni sociali. Un viaggio particolare, unico, narrato in prima persona. EN In this new episode of C'è di Mezzo il Mare we interviewed Gholam Najafi, a poet from Afghanistan who escaped from his native country at the age of ten. Gholam arrived in Europe after passing through Pakistan, Iran, and Turkey, and he has now lived and worked in Italy for many years. His history is very relevant not only because it is a direct testimony of what it means to migrate and be a refugee, but also because it helps us to see climate change as a phenomenon closely connected to war and other social phenomena.
