Welcome to the London Toast Theatre Podcast!
It seems about the right time for us to make a podcast about the story of London Toast Theatre because this year we are producing our 40th Crazy Christmas show.
We produced our first Crazy Christmas show in a tiny 50 seat theatre in the center of Copenhagen. We then moved from theatre to theatre over the years until we finally arrived at the splendid Glassalen theatre in the Tivoli Gardens where we have been playing every winter for the last 31 years. This has given us the chance to continue to produce bigger and better shows over the years with a team of top professional technicians, designers and of course performers.
So it has been an incredible journey over the last 40 years - and to hear more about it - tune in to this podcast!

3 NOV 2023 · I første episode møder vi teaterdirektør Søren Hall, der fortæller om hvordan det hele startede i 1982, hvor de valgte at risikere familieøkonomien og producere deres første Crazy Christmas forestilling i Cafeteatret i Skindergade – uden at vide at det skulle blive til 39 flere.
17 NOV 2023 · I denne episode møder vi Vivienne Mckee med de 4 hatte: manuskriptforfatter, instruktør, skuespiller og producent – og i dette afsnit med særligt fokus på skriveprocessen når hun udarbejder en Crazy Christmas forestilling.
1 DEC 2023 · Vi møder her skuespiller David Bateson som har været med i alle Crazy Christmas’ forestillinger siden 1990. Han fortæller her om nogle af de mange sjove roller han har haft gennem årene, og om det helt særlige og charmerende ved at være med til at skabe en Crazy Christmas forestilling.
8 DEC 2023 · Denne gang skal vi høre hvor vigtigt det er at lyd, musik og bevægelse går op i en højere enhed. Vi møder både koreograf Peter Friis, musical director Stuart Goodstein og trommeslager Søren Bom Bom der også leverer alle lydeffekterne.
15 DEC 2023 · Vi møder her Katrine Falkenberg og Andrew Jeffers som fortæller om deres mange år i Crazy Christmas karrusellen. Katrine taler bl.a. om sine mange forskellige slags roller og om den meget intense men også inspirerende arbejdsproces, og Andrew om de mange sjove og bizarre kostumer han gennem årene har haft.
22 DEC 2023 · Vi møder nu Kirsten Brink som i 35 år har arbejdet tæt sammen med Vivienne. Hvert år har hun designet både scenografi og kostumer til Crazy Christmas forestillingerne og også til London Toast Theatres andre teater produktioner. Jeg møder hende både alene og sammen med Vivienne.
22 MAR 2024 · Vivienne fortæller bl.a. om forestillingen Shirley Valentine som genopsættes til efterÃ¥ret, og vi hører om hvad hun ellers laver udover Crazy Christamas Cabaret. Desuden er vi sÃ¥ heldige at fÃ¥ besøg af Dr. Bent van Helsingør som fortæller om hans mange Ã¥r hos London Toast, hvor han har spillet mange forskellige roller og har fÃ¥et mange trofaste fans gennem tiden.Â
28 JUN 2024 · Dette afsnit stÃ¥r i Shakespeare’s tegn, og for de som ikke ved det, sÃ¥ har London Toast Theatre haft flere Shakespeare forestillinger som vi her præsenteres for, og særligt skal vi høre om hvordan Vivienne’s eget stykke Shakespeare’s Ghost blev til. Tilsidst i afsnittet har vi inviteret de tre skuespillere som medvirker ind til en snak med Vivienne om genopsætningen til november pÃ¥ Teatret ved Sorte Hest.Â
