Journey of the Crown: From Judgment to Joy Queen Shavondra's Story of Overcoming Church Hurt and Emb
5 FEB 2025 · From Judgment to Joy" – Featuring Mrs. North Carolina Plus America 2024, ShavondraFrom a young age, Shavondra longed to know the Lord. At just 9 years old, she led her family to join the Seventh-day Adventist Church, standing firm in her faith despite being different from those around her. But as a curvy teenager raised by a single mother in the projects, she became the target of harsh judgment from church elders, words that crushed her spirit and shattered her trust in the very place she sought refuge.
For years, those painful words haunted her, making her question her faith, identity, and worth. But she refused to let judgment define her. Now, as Mrs. North Carolina Plus America 2024, she uses her Beauty and Brains platform to inspire women to embrace their God-given beauty, intelligence, and confidence.
💛 How do we heal from church hurt? How do we reclaim our identity beyond judgment? Join us as Shavondra shares her powerful testimony of resilience, self-acceptance, and overcoming fear, proving that God’s love is greater than man’s judgment.

Vwayaj Yaya te ranpli ak soufrans, sakrifis, ak andirans. A kat an, yo te separe l ak manman l pou voye l lakay matant li, kote li te sibi move tretman. A onze an, yo voye l nan yon lòt kay, kote li te oblije travay san lanmou ni swen.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite seasons, it’s a time to reflect, gather with loved ones, and truly focus on gratitude. But today, we’re going beyond just the holiday. We’re diving into the heart of what it means to live with gratitude, not just for one day but as a way of life.In this episode, we’re exploring how gratitude is so much more than saying “thank you.” It’s a mindset, a way of seeing the world and trusting in God’s faithfulness, even when things aren’t easy.
We’ll talk about what gratitude means according to scripture, why it’s so powerful during hard times, and how to nurture a culture of thankfulness in our families.I’ll share personal stories and practical ways to carry the spirit of Thanksgiving beyond the dinner table. And most importantly, we’ll reflect on how gratitude connects us to God, deepens our faith, and strengthens our relationships with one another. So, as we dive in, I want you to take a moment.
Think about one thing you’re truly thankful for right now. Hold that thought in your heart as we go through this journey together. I promise, by the end of this episode, you’ll feel inspired to embrace gratitude in a deeper way, not just this Thanksgiving, but every day.
