Hello, sweet friend. Welcome back to another episode of Finding Her Happiness. The above quote, believe it or not was spoken over 27 years ago. To be exact, it was February1997 at the National Prayer breakfast in Washington DC which was attended by the then president and first lady.
Why am I reading it? Well, I'm reading it because it ties into what I'm going to be talking to you about today, abortion through the lens of a childless woman (not by choice). I know you may be thinking, "Oh gosh, Mary, that's such such a yucky heavy conversation! Why are you talking about it?" I'm talking about it because I not only feel led to talk about it, I must talk about it.

13 AUG 2024 · Have you ever found yourself in this situation, you are with some of your mom friends and they are discussing a particular issue they are having with their child and you actually have some good insight and a possible solution for them but instead of saying anything, you keep it to yourself because you’re not a parent? Or perhaps you do say something and then you get a look or comment and once again it’s this reminder that you’re not a mom so you really don’t know. If this sounds familiar, then welcome to the club! Boy!, have I been in this situation multiple times, even at 53 year old I still am, only this time it is with my nieces and nephews who are now becoming parents. Today I will be sharing with you three tips on how to handle such a situation as this.

30 JUL 2024 · I had such an awkward moment yesterday, actually, I had several, and it was troubling to say the least. I felt like one of those things that isn’t like the others and to top it all off, I couldn’t go anywhere. I was stuck and knew I had to push through for the next two hours. Where exactly was I and what was happening? Well, I will tell you all about it but before I go on I want to first welcome you back. Thanks so much for being a part of this journey. I pray God is blessing you in this very moment and that you are finding peace and comfort.

23 JUL 2024 · Why is God doing this to us? Is God doing this to us? I believe that much like most of the sufferings we experience in our lives, He is allowing it to happen to us. God does not do things to us, rather, once again, he allows it to be done to us. I know this may not sound fair my friend which is why you landed in the right place to be inspired and motivated despite any feelings for frustration towards God.

16 JUL 2024 · "I was nine years old and I sat in this rocking chair at this adoption agency and a social worker handed him to me and I immediately thought, Oh, this is the best. I want to do this again when I grow up. I think for a long time after that, I just assumed I would get married and have kids.
Cause why, isn't that what people did? You just, that's what you did. You know, so it never occurred to me that that wasn't going to be something that happened, maybe. Cause I didn't know a lot of single people. I mean, now I think it's a lot more prevalent, but, I mean, everybody I knew, like, they were mommies and they were daddies and they got married and had kids, and that was the normal thing."

9 JUL 2024 · Life is hard. Grief is challenging. Life isn’t fair. Grieving in a healthy way takes too much time and effort. I’m going to stop trying to feel better, do better or live better. It overwhelms me and I would rather just keep to myself and do my thing. Whatever that is, whatever that looks like. It’s my life after all and I don’t have to do anything.
