The war is raging in Ukraine with significant civilian casualties. Millions have fled the country, while others live as internally displaced. The population is subjected to Russian terror and aggression, and no one knows how it will end. Since Putin deployed his troops in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Martin Thaulow has portrayed and interviewed the Ukrainian people, and he is the photographer behind the exhibition Voices of the Future. Listen to the harsh stories of the horrors of war, but also of the hope that is kept alive. Meet the Ukrainians in their fight for life as they form the backdrop for the Ukrainian spirit.

Voices of the Future is an outdoor exhibition that depicts Ukrainians who have fled and those who still remain in the war-torn country. In the beginning of the war, Martin Thaulow was on the border between Poland and Ukraine to cover the massive influx of refugees. Subsequently, he has traveled to Latvia several times, and most recently, he has traveled 6,000 km deep into Ukraine to meet the people who live close to the war and its consequences.

The photo exhibition can be seen at the FLUGT – Refugee Museum of Denmark, which is the new international museum for refugee stories.

Since 2014, Martin Thaulow has portrayed and documented people fleeing and their destinies both domestically and internationally. He is married to Rawan, who fled the war in Syria, and he often travels to one of the world's hotspots to continue his work.
