13 NOV 2024 · As humans, we learn from our mistakes, and one big one - was putting lead in paint. The chemical made paint durable, quick drying, and provided vibrant colors, but as the 20th century rolled on, more and more children were diagnosed with neuroglocial and developmental problems that eventually were tracked down to lead paint exposure. So lead was banned, but every house built before 1978 had lead paint. Even today, the effects of lead paint chipping, creating dust and damaging children continues.
My guest today is Aaron Grant, with People Working Cooperatively's Whole Home Innovation center, which targets this issue and helps people get the lead out of their living spaces.Â

At Moeller High School, a monthly youth grief group meets to give the all-boys school a place to express their loss and receive the comfort of each other.Â

For those in the Tri-State who lose their vision later in life, it can be especially difficult to transition to living without the ability to see. Every day, people with cataracts, glaucoma and other impairments come to the organization we're talking with today, for help, support, and real skills to live and thrive.
The Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually impaired makes it their mission to help everyone adjust, adapt and live with their condition, through programs paid for by donations and supporters.Â
