4 MAR 2026 · This is a rebroadcast from episode 30
In this episode of Libertarians Talk Psychology, we explore the psychology behind bureaucracy through the lens of organizational behavior and libertarian thought.
Why do bureaucratic systems grow?
How do group dynamics shape decision-making?
And what happens to human productivity when structure turns into stagnation?
We break down the social group phenomena that define bureaucratic institutions — from diffusion of responsibility and hierarchy reinforcement to risk aversion and institutional inertia. Using insights from organizational psychology, we discuss how centralized systems impact creativity, innovation, and individual motivation.
We also examine a powerful thematic clip from https://youtu.be/VveTsyjFlNA?si=s4umAGwAn6c1jRF7 that highlights the absurdity and complexity of intergalactic bureaucracy — and why it feels so familiar in our own world.
If you're interested in psychology, libertarian philosophy, organizational reform, and the human side of productivity, this episode connects the dots between theory, culture, and real-world systems.
🎧 Listen, follow, and share if you enjoy deep dives into psychology and liberty.

18 FEB 2026 · Julie discusses the four social instincts and how they are represented in the political sphere. Then she talks about the three disadvantages of altruism, including waste, codependency, and social games. Social games are played by political people where they pretend to be the rescuers and have to have others to be the victims.

11 FEB 2026 · Mission, strategy, and planning are still important for business, even within government organizations. But almost all group and individual communications are evolving away from the old styles due to texting, emails, phone messages, and social media. In-person communication used to be very important, but not necessarily now.
Examples of change areas include management, sales, delegation, staffing, and client contact. Good luck to you youngsters!

4 FEB 2026 · This is a rebroadcast of episode 36
In this episode of Libertarians Talk Psychology, we take on the danger of toxic followers, herd mentality, and the pressure to assimilate—politically, socially, and psychologically.
Using concepts from group dynamics, social conformity, and psychological distortion, we explore how individuals surrender independent thought in exchange for belonging—and why this mindset is especially destructive to libertarian philosophy.
We break down the importance of individual thinking, personal responsibility, and independent decision-making, drawing connections between psychology, politics, and culture.

28 JAN 2026 · Maybe it’s time to give up on these misleading politicians and instead just concentrate on our individual freedoms! Trump spoke at the world economic forum and made some really good humorous arguments, and also some really confusing points.
Finally there appears to be some quantitative evidence about the effectiveness of tariffs. The Ron Paul podcast brings this to our awareness.

21 JAN 2026 · Scott Adams passing is a great loss to those of us who object to herd mentality. Scott was brilliant in his analyzing of cognitive dissonance, irrationality, and mass delusion. He unraveled the complexity of human persuasion better than most, If not all, psychologists. Thank you to Scott and may you rest in peace.

14 JAN 2026 · I am sorry to get myself upset about the administration’s indirect and even deceptive communications over Venezuela activities. This is nothing new from our government, but it does seem worse than usual.
At first, this was about blowing up speed boats that could be taking illegal drugs to the United States. Never mind that Venezuela is admittedly a minor player in the drug trade. And never mind that the US population is willingly buying these drugs. Also, when are we going to admit that our heavy handed strategies for enforcing drug laws are not reducing drugs and are increasing our already world record high jail sentencing rates.
Is this some sort of joke that we are violently arresting a foreign leader for possession of machine guns?
Of course, this whole thing is probably about our legitimate fear of hemisphere influence by China, Russia, and Iran. So what is the red line that cannot be crossed before justified military intervention in a sovereign country? And should we apply that same red line definition for our country’s activities on the other side of the world?

31 DEC 2025 · Both sides of our political world have created a big problem with inflation! And both sides seem to be happy to put it off as an affordability problem that needs additional government help.
Milton Freeman did a good job describing how inflation really works.
