8 OCT 2024 · Amber Tuccaro was visiting Edmonton with her 15 month old son and an acquaintance/friend of some sort called E. Amber left the hotel, getting into a vehicle for a ride and was never seen again. After her mother reports her missing, law enforcement suspects a "runaway" or "another mom partying" and not only doesn't seem to be taking the investigation seriously, they also get rid of/destroy any of the items that could have been used for testing after a sighting is reported, yet never confirmed. A chilling phone call recording comes in where you can hear Amber talking to an unidentified man about where he was taking her in the vehicle she had gotten into... and this is believed to be the last moments of Ambers life because shortly after this call was released, Ambers body was found.
Amber Tuccaro was a member of the Mikisew Cree First Nation, she was a mother and she was only 20 years old when she disappeared and was murdered. Her family truly believes that the investigation was not taken seriously because of who Amber was and the statistics when it comes to missing and murdered indigenous women hold tome proof to that assumption.
Did the RCMP have preconceived stereotypical assumptions that left them to a botched investigation? Could things have been any different for Amber, in her murder or in finding her murderer?
