31 AUG 2026 · The hacker house wave made it's way to Riga. A small group of organisers built Shipyard from scratch in late 2025, funding the first batch entirely out of pocket - €11,000, no outside backing - and housed it in one of Riga's sharpest tech venues.Â

26 MAY 2026 · The hacker house wave didn't stop in Vilnius. A few months after basedcollective opened its doors in Lithuania, ruum launched in Tallinn – a hacker house for exploring unsolved technical problems, building solutions, failing, and trying again, with strong support from the community. Built by two ecosystem operators, it's a bet that Estonia's next generation of founders can build the next Bolt or Wise.
Today we have Helery Pops, one of the founders of ruum, in the studio. We get into why they built it, the support coming from the community, lessons from the first cohort, and what's next – including ruum's summer residency.

1 APR 2026 · The Baltic startup scene was shaken in 2025 by the rapid emergence of hacker houses across all three countries. basedspace_ was the first mover, operating out of Vilnius, Lithuania. After living, studying and building abroad, the founders decided to come back and build something that didn't exist - a place where founders ship fast, live together, and cut the safety net entirely. No corporate ladder, no five-year plan. Just build.
