15 JUN 2024 · Hey there, this is Ron, and welcome to episode 154 of the Lost Trailrunner podcast.
This episode is a bit shorter than usual, but it comes with an important update from Mountain Park. I've been under the weather this past week, and it has thrown my PeachTree training plan off course. It all started on Wednesday afternoon after an easy MAF 5k run. By the time I got home, every muscle in my body was aching, and my temperature had risen. Over the next couple of days, I battled a high fever, sore throat, and a persistent cough that made even simple tasks feel exhausting.
Although my temperature has come down, I am still dealing with lingering symptoms. Despite feeling unwell, I decided to take a walk at Mountain Park. Walking seems to help, and I feel better when I'm moving. I discuss how my fever fluctuated and how I've been managing my symptoms. I also share my thoughts on whether it could be COVID-19 or just a severe cold. Thankfully, my fever has broken, and I'm hoping to get back to running soon.
During my walk, I reflect on the importance of staying active even when you're not feeling your best. Walking might not be as strenuous as running, but it's better than doing nothing. I aim to walk 45 minutes every day to maintain some level of fitness until I can resume my regular training schedule.
Join me on this journey as I navigate through this challenging week and look forward to getting back on track. Thanks for listening, and I hope to bring you a more positive update in the next episode.

In this episode, I also mention a new AI feature from Podbean that I'm considering using to enhance the podcast. This feature can generate show notes and edit out pauses, hums, and coughs, which might be particularly useful given the number of breaks in this recording. Join me on this journey as I navigate through this challenging week and look forward to getting back on track. 6 APR 2024 · This episode is about a month or more late, I am sorry. Lack of motivation hit me, but I think I have recovered. Anyway I am continuing to use a 5k maintenance plan from the Runna app as well as do MAF runs. I am not sure how effective MAF is if you are not consistent. I guess that I will have to try harder to stick with it.
