1 MAY 2024 · Grief is a serious emotion. We feel the loss and depth of despair after we lose an animal, loved one, job, relationship, money, home, marriage or possession. There are phases including emotional shock, denial, sadness, fear, anger; our immunity and weight can change as well as our sleep habits. We may not be comfortable in our skin. Linda and Candy spoke about their recent losses last week, Linda a friend, Candy her cat yet both were grieving their losses. Candy refers to support programs.

24 APR 2024 · In 12 step programs the slogan 'don't quite 5 minutes before the miracle' gives person the hope and incentive to not quit, give up believing or trusting ro giving in to a craving or desire once healing has begun. Whether sober from alcohol, off drugs, porn, gambling, food addiction, to moving toward a goal in relationships or career, we discuss keep going now matter. The pitfall may hurt more than the momentary relief of giving up. The answers of what to do will be clear by not quitting.

This is overwhelming to a newcomer and to people with long term sobriety. Some people may slip for a day or two and get dry, sober, stop their substance usage, etc. Others relapse for days, weeks, months and cannot find a way to stop. There are legitimate inner struggles to change behavior, stop using or drinking and getting honest there is a problem within the person to get sober.
