If you have not listened to the first 3 chapters then I suggest starting at Chapter One. The link is in the description. This is a book in progress. The chapters are not yet finalized and may change on the final copy. The Soulless, Chapter 4Father Peter tapped his short, fat fingers on the Bible shelf of the confession booth. His patience was thinning and he was getting incredibly bored. On a normal weekday, he might have at least six people coming into the booth for confession before they went to work. These were usually women who were sleeping with men out of wedlock and then at the end of the day, the men they slept with came in before going home to their wives. He knew everyone in their family. Perhaps today they finally realized their marriage was more important than a good time and everyone decided to stay home for once. Would they ever stop sinning? Not that Father Peter was perfect! He rubbed his hands together as the bad thoughts began rumbling in his head. He had his own demons to deal with and with every day he took his Promise of Celibacy and yet some days were harder than others. He knew that the last session of the morning was his most troublesome and it was about time for that session to begin. As he waited and watched the small clock sitting on the Bible shelf, he began to feel relieved that his last normal confessional, Priscilla, wasn’t going to show.Priscilla tested his service to God every time she came into the booth. With her platinum blonde hair piled in curls on her head down to her bare shoulders and her tops that were so low cut that he could just almost see the brown tips of her very large breasts and her always pursed red lips pouting as she told her story of infidelity every single morning tested his vow of chastity and almost every time he failed. He prayed she wouldn’t show this time as the last time they almost were caught as she kneeled beneath him in the booth. To his dismay, or enjoyment, he couldn’t decide which, the next confessional that day went on a wee bit longer than normal as the next person, Ron Jamison, was very old and slow. Several times Father Peter almost lost it during Ron’s confession but he kept on while Ron complained about how bad his crops were and that it must have been a punishment from God and that is why he must confess all of his sins. None of them were too bad except for the gambling and picking up a hooker at the bar. The rest were simple little white lies but he just kept on going and when Ron was finally done, so was Father Peter. That day, Priscilla looked up at Father Peter and winked then headed on out the door after Ron Jamison to do only God knows what, or maybe the whole town knew as well. That was fine. He was happy to get rid of the little trollop so he could move on with his day. She held it over his head and threatened almost every time that if he ever said anything she would tell the whole town she had been going downtown with him for years and she could prove it. He certainly didn’t need that type of drama in his life so he just went along with it and maybe one day she would leave him alone. And just when he thought that his prayers would be answered and it would be that day, the large, cherrywood double doors in the front of the church opened up. The sun, now bright in the early afternoon had been shining through the stained glass windows but he couldn’t see as he had been waiting in the booth all morning long, was piercing through the open doors and he could barely see who tumbled inside. He could see the familiar wonton shape of the women who took advantage of him but she didn’t seem right. Her perfect platinum blonde hair wasn’t as shiny as normal and it looked a bit matted from afar. She only wore one shoe and her dress seemed torn in several places. Worse of all, he noticed as she came closer the gash from the top of her forehead all the way town through her face, and neck and seeming to split one of her large breasts in half as it continued on down to her hip. He also noticed some of her intestines hanging out of the gash down by her belly.“Miss…Miss… are you all right?” he stuttered, unable to comprehend what he saw.She didn’t respond, just grunted and limped a little faster. She pushed him up against the communal and dropped to her knees then looked up at him. Not with a smile as usual, but with half of her lips missing on one side and a black gel-like substance that smelled like a mix of bile and rotten meat dripping from her gums. What was left of whatever arousal he might have had when she walked in was gone and he quickly pushed her back. She fell on her rear and stumbled while trying to get up as he locked himself in the communal. Priscilla pushed on the door, but with his weight against it, the door wouldn’t budge. Then she tried to pry her fingers through the screen but Father Peter quickly shut it, the metal slabs cutting one of her fingers off, falling to the floor. The grey finger with its long red fingernail twitched and rolled until the preacher picked up his foot and stomped on it with his heel. He half expected it to squirt black blood everywhere but instead, the dry bone splintered into pieces. He kicked it under the rug and stomped on it again. As her body continued to bash against the door, he looked down at his foot and wondered how it could even have happened. She was fine the day before, every bit of her. The sound of sirens seemed to explode outside.“Hey, over here!” he heard someone call out then the woman’s heel bone scraping across the wooden floor toward the door. With the utmost grace, Father Peter opened the door to the confessional and peered over the pulpit and into the nave. He watched as her tattered dress followed her body around the corner outside the building. Wasting no time, he ran over then slammed both of the doors shut and locked them. He then slid the wooden bolt into the curved ornate iron door handles. The bolt was just for show, he didn’t think he’d ever need to use it.Along the wall near the door various jackets and sermon robes hung without care. He grabbed his cell phone from the inner pocket of the red and blue puffer jacket. His hands shook as he dialed the phone, almost dropping it in the process. The phone beeped twice at him.NO SIGNAL it read and he stared at the screen.Outside people screamed in the street. He heard the rushing of feet toward the door then nothing. Father Peter climbed up on the bench in the waiting room and stood on his tiptoes as tall as he could, which really wasn’t that tall at all, and peered out into the street. At first it just looked like a few car accidents. Two cars faced head-on, and both fenders smashed into each other. The doors were open and there seemed to be blood painted on the streets, but there were no bodies until he noticed the hand under the car. Then he saw the arm and then the torso. Sitting against the wheel of the car was Priscella. She held the victim's other arm like a chicken leg. Shaking her head, she tore off skin and meat then gulped it down without chewing. He winced as he imagined where that mouth had been the day prior and where it almost was today. Sweating, he climbed down off of the bench and then kneeled in prayer wondering who or what he might be praying to. Before whispering Amen into his hands, he grabbed himself to make sure he was still intact.“There will be no services today,” he sighed.Startled by the sudden pounding on the doors, Father Peter looked up from his prayer. He waited to see if one of those inhuman things outside could bust down the door. They didn’t seem all too intelligent, they were more like zombies than demons but zombies weren’t real! They were just creatures in movies. Demons, on the other hand, were and this must be what all of these things outside were. They were demons and one had pretended to be Prescilla. God must had allowed it to get back at him for the sin she preformed on him during her confessionals. The bashing knocking on the doors continued as two people yelled. “Let us in! They’re going to kill us!”He once again crawled up on the bench with his short, stout body and peered out the window. There were people there, a man an a woman, pounding on the doors. They looked normal enough–even alive. He considered opening it for them as it would be the Christian thing to do but the moment he was about to climb down from the rack, a pack of five unholy creatures grabbed them from behind. These weren’t just unholy creatures! Upon closer look, they seemed to be children.Their little bodies, covered in bites and ashen skin, slowly crept up to the couple. He noticed their eyes most of all. The eyes of the dead! Streaks of grey lined their cheeks and under their eyes. Their scelera seeming to extend over the irises. All except one looked dead, but he was close to it as seen from the large hole in his neck that seeped dark red fluids into his clothes.“Child demons?” he thought to himself. Not unheard of but possible. The screams of the people outside told him to look away, but he couldn’t. He watched the terror unfold as one of the demon children bit into the hand of the woman as another crawled underneath her skirt and ate a large chunk out of her calf. When she screamed, more of the creatures outside, adults and children, stopped their raw bloody meals of human flesh and looked over. Some of them crawled, and some walked over to the group of people and began tugging and pulling at their arms and hair. The man raised his fish and bashed the calf eating demon in the face. It fell backward and then crawled right up her leg again. This time he raised his umbrella and shoved it into the eye socket of the child, it let out a sound the preach Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/spooky-boo-s-scary-story-time--3577322/support.
