29 JAN 2024 · In this test episode I've recorded a passage from "As a Man Thinketh" to compare the audio sound from the SE Dynacaster DCM8. One section was recorded with the Dynamite inline preamp activited and one section was recorded with the inline preamp off, using only the audio gain available from the Vocaster One interface.

Recoded with an SE Dynacaster DCM8 microphone into Audacity. Reverb reduction was applied with Hush. Leveled with Levelator. Rendered to 18 LUFs with Hindenburg Pro.
15 DEC 2023 · In this episode I test the Sudotack 800 condenser microphone. This is a USB microphone with a USB type B (printer type) connection. Note: new Sudotack mics may have a different connection. The mic records in 24bit/192khz with a frequency range of 30 hz to 16 khz.
This mic typically is sold in a bundle (boom arm, pop filter, etc.) and ranges from about $40 to $60 U.S. on Amazon.
The audio in this test was processed with EQ / compression (Hindenburg Pro generic voice profiler), Levelator, Hush noise / reverb reduction and two De-essers.

16 OCT 2023 · This is a test podcast where we test microphones, DAWs, plugins, and other tools, recording environments, and related items.
In this episode we compare the SE DynaCaster DCM8 with the Shure SM58, with both microphones having basic EQ, compression, de-essing, and noise and reverb reduction using the Hush application. Hush is a Mac only stand-a-lone application (not a plug-in) designed to reduce reverb and noise. Both microphones were recorded and processed with the Hindenburg Pro application.

30 SEP 2023 · This episode is a comparision between the raw, zero processing, audio sound of the SE DynaCaster DCM8 and the Electrovoice RE320. There is no processing of any kind on the audio file. The audio was recorded with Hindenburg Pro, which does automatically level the file.

12 SEP 2023 · This is a test recording comparing two recording applications: Cleanfeed and Twisted Wave.
Find Cleanfeed at https://www.Cleanfeed.net. There's a free and paid version. The free version is all that's needed for 99% of podcasters. It can be used to record one person or multiple people through an Internet connection. It provides excellent quality .WAV files you can then process in your DAW of choice.
Twisted Wave is a paid DAW that is used by a good number of voice over artists and solo podcasters. Find more info at https://www.TwistedWave.com.
Both files were processed in the same way using Hush, Levelator, and Hindenburg Pro. Microphone; Blue Yeti.

19 AUG 2023 · Note: This is a test podcast where I test microphones, DAWs, plugins, and processing techniques. The real podcasts are all available at https://StressReliefRadio.com.
In this episode I compare two condenser microphones: the first segment was recorded with the ProAR C 414 and the second segment was recorded with the Neat King Bee.
There's no EQ or compression. I used the stock Hindenburg Pro noise reduction filter, the Goyo plugin to lower ambient noise and reverb and also ran one de-esser plugin. Other than those three filters, there's no other processing on the audio file.
