"Begin at once to live and count each separate day as a separate life."
We look at similar guidance provided in the Bible's Old and New Testaments:
Proverbs 27 Verse 1: "Boast not of thyself tomorrow": a man cannot promise or assure himself, that he shall have a morrow, and therefore it is great weakness and folly to be anxiously thoughtful about it."
Matthew 6 Verse 25: "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself..."

4 SEP 2021 · In this episode we look at what Epictetus tells us about why we react to situations we believe are “causing” our emotional pain.
Key insights from Epictetus include:
“People are disturbed not by things, but by the views which they take of things.”
“If someone irritates you, it is only your own response that is irritating you. Therefore, when anyone seems to be provoking you, remember that it is only your judgment of the incident that provokes you.”
It is not an actual occurrence in the outside world that causes distress. Rather, it is our reaction to that occurrence based on our beliefs.
You’ll discover exactly how to recognize subconscious beliefs leading to disempowering reactions and then create the mindset to respond from an emotional state of equanimity and balance.
