Meredith and KJ found this week’s monster almost as scary as Sam’s sudden anger issues. 2 AUG 2021 · KJ and Meredith are on their own again as they break down the events of season 1 episode 3. There’s a vengeful spirit in a fictional lake, a woman who is willing and able to call Dean out on his shameless flirting, and a sidebar about Phineas and Ferb! We’re getting a little nitpicky with the math, but some things just aren’t adding up about how long Sam and Dean were on the outs. Also just pure joy as Dean Winchester interacts with a child wholesomely. CW Episode description: Sam and Dean investigate a series of mysterious drownings written off as suicides. They discover the spirit is an angry little boy with the power to travel through water who is taking revenge on certain town inhabitants for a dark secret buried long ago. 9 AUG 2021 · KJ proves exactly how little biblical knowledge she has by confusing Jesus’ birthplace and hometowns, and saying Moses “hung out” on a mountain. Meredith puts up with this and attempts to provide some supplementary knowledge. What KJ does know a lot about-Ed and Lorraine Warren and their museum full of allegedly haunted and dangerous things. And we would like to fire EVERYONE working security in this episode, demons are more believable than the fact that Dean brought an open juice jug filled with holy water on an airplane in 2005. CW Episode description: On TransNational flight 2485, a man possessed by the spirit of the Phantom Traveler causes the plane to crash, leaving only seven survivors left alive. KJ, Meredith, and Frances put their heads together and try to track down what John was doing when he was actively avoiding his two sons who dropped everything to look for him. While most of John’s whereabouts and activities remained a mystery, they also talked a little about John’s upbringing (seriously who is John’s mother and why is she never mentioned by John, the boys, or Henry Winchester?), his parenting, and whether or not John is actually a capable hunter deserving of his seemingly widespread reputation in the hunting community. 23 AUG 2021 · It’s a full on slumber party as KJ is joined by Meredith, Frances, and Jordan to recap and discuss “Bloody Mary”, the episode inspired by the pervasive urban legend that has led so many children to gamble with the supernatural at sleepovers and in school bathrooms. KJ herself nearly took that gamble for the aEsThEtIc of the podcast this week by contemplating recording herself playing Bloody Mary. KJ also says “journicle article” with a straight face and not one guest calls her out on it. CW Episode Description: In suburban Ohio, a group of partying high school teens jokingly dare their friend Charlie (guest star Marnette Patterson) to look into the mirror and repeat "Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary, Bloody Mary," not knowing this will unleash a series of mysterious murders. Sam and Dean realize that Bloody Mary has the power to travel through all reflective surfaces when she is hunting a victim. What KJ and Meredith are fans of is a high stakes middle-of-the-case opening followed by rewinding to an earlier time and learning over the course of the episode how things got to where they were-exactly what this episode delivers. The brothers discover a shapeshifter is adopting the likenesses of others and murdering people. There’s a lot of insects, some serious misuse of Native American culture, and two grown men following a teenager off the bus and into a forest. KJ and Meredith discuss what pit of insects is the most ideal choice to stick your bare hand into. And of course some helpful advice on when it’s okay to dig up a mass grave and carry the bones around in a cardboard box-hint: it’s never okay. CW Episode description: After a construction worker is killed by insects burrowing into his brain, Sam and Dean investigate the town's history and find that the new housing development is being built on sacred Indian land.
