13 JUN 2023 · On this episode, I chat with Kelsey Sorenson, creator of Wife Teacher Mommy, about the dreaded Sunday-Scaries. Yup, we’re addressing those pesky, draining feelings that sometimes overtake our weekend as we think, with impending dread, about the week that’s coming. Together, Kelsey and I talk about what triggers the Sunday Scaries, what they mean, and how we can take small actions that make a huge impact in managing the anxiety, overwhelm, and dread that some educators experience on Sunday afternoons. In our conversation, Kelsey doesn’t propose solutions to get rid of the feelings, rather, she reframes Sunday Scaries as an opportunity to listen, learn, and act based on your mental, emotional, and physical reactions.

21 MAR 2023 · On this episode, I invite my friend Donielle Meadows onto the podcast to share her experience with being a teacher and a new mom. My conversation with Donielle was a reminder to me that we don’t always have to resolve contrasting feelings. There’s power in creating awareness of those feelings that can inform future decisions. My hope is that this episode makes you feel seen or at least prompts you to think about whether you’re showing up the way you want for your students, your family, and yourself. Consider episode this as your invitation to sit with all the feelings that come along with all of the roles you occupy in your life and that you feel empowered to show up authentically - complicated feelings and all.
