27 JUN 2024 · Ken Shadow Goodman is a fascinating man. He grew in Brooklyn New York and eventually found himself on the wrong side of the law. in prison there are two options, one merely survives or one thrives. Ken is the latter! Though he has martial arts background before prison, while in he learned the 52 Blocks fighting system but he also learned other martial arts and began blending pieces of all these systems or more accurately distilled down concepts and techniques in to his own system, 52VTK.  Something that sets both Ken and 52VTK apart is it was developed in the ultimate pressure testing grounds, inside prison where the person you're fighting isn't simply an opponent, they are looking to kill or seriously hurt.  This conversation absolutely exceeded my expectations and Ken is one of the most open, honest, genuine, and forthright guys you'll ever meet!  You can find Ken on IG at 52_VTK or on facebook at 52 Ways To Strive.

He is an FDNY Firefighter and Air Force Aviator but his story and how he came in to these jobs is a fascinating one! He has made a life of jumping without a net and pursued his passions and curiosities in life and has succeeded!  He's done so with humility, resilience, integrity, and a little blind luck! We talk about his journey from his home state of Ohio, to college in Florida, to moving on a whim to Austin Tx and becoming a firefighter/emt and then moving to New York with sole purpose of becoming an FDNY Firefighter. From there he wanted to learn to fly, so he did, then joining the Air Force and becoming a pilot there. He still does both jobs!  His is a story of resiliance and hustle! We also get in to his recent guided ketamine therapy and how it's transformed him as husband, father, and man!
