5 NOV 2020 · WWI & WWII Author and Historian Rick Lee has interviewed the oldest living veterans alive today. Having been apart of the 101st. Airborne, a walk on at the University of Alabama and an accomplished Engineer, Rick is interesting enough, in and of himself. Being the kind, unselfish man that he is, he has chosen rather to shine a light on American heroes serving in the Armed Forces. In this Podcast Rick tells stories that would rival many Hollywood war movies and would make some pale in comparison! As he traveled the U.S. interviewing World War 1 & 2 veterans he encountered unbelievable stories of valor and courage. These stories made up what became his first book "Tribute to Valor and Courage." From a man who Served in WW1 only to become a civilian prisoner in the Second World War, to a man serving under famed baseball player Jackie Robinson as his Platoon Leader. There are pieces of history told here, that are told knowere else. Told by men and women who said they were "just doing their duty." Rick tells a love story on this episode, that is more than movie worthy! Told by childhood sweethearts that had parents that went thru the murderous and vile Aushwitz Death Camps. Though teeming with tragedy, it has a fantastic happy ending that we won't give away here. Enjoy this treasure, loaded with fascinating historical facts. Told by the man who cultivated these nuggets from the Greatest Generation, Mr. Rick Lee.
