The Nocking Point is a podcast from Scottish Archery, celebrating as much as possible about the archery community here in Scotland and abroad. #MakingSportLimitless
6 JUN 2020 · In episode 4 we have a chat with Alban Dickson around his journey within sports psychology and the work he has been doing with our Pathway Squad. Alban is a really fascinating person with a deep knowledge of many sports due to his work with athletes and coaches and we were delighted he could take time away fro learning Swedish and from his band rehearsals (all true - check his twitter @AlbanDickson ). If there are some strange sounds we apologise. Recording the podcast means a visit from the kids during recording time and the occasional Peppa Pig episode can be heard! #MakingSportLimitless
3 JUN 2020 · In the latest of our continuing Minisodes hosted by Mirran Yule, we hear Mirran interviewing her fellow athlete Lucy Coutts. Enjoy! #WeAreHere #MakingSportLimitless
31 MAY 2020 · In our latest minisode, Scottish Archery Pathway Squad athlete Josh Mitchell is interviewed by the hardest working podcaster in Scotland - Josh’s fellow athlete Mirran Yule. Enjoy! Please follow us @TheNockingPoint on twitter or drop us an email on podcast@scottisharchery.org.uk
30 MAY 2020 · In our latest minisode with members of our Pathway Squad Jonathan Ralston (our youngest squad member) is interviewed by his fellow athlete Mirran Yule. Enjoy!
14 MAY 2020 · In the latest episode of The Nocking Point our guest is Paralympian Natahn McQueen! Nathan competed at Rio and recently qualified for Tokyo so we are hopeful we will still see him shooting for TeamGB at the olympics in 2021. Hosts for this episode are Alan Martin and Mirran Yule. Enjoy!
6 MAY 2020 · In the latest of our Minisodes hosted by Mirran Yule, we hear from Pathways Athlete Frank Hynds - check it out!
1 MAY 2020 · This is a slightly different episode than previous (and future) incarnations of The Nocking Point. Here, we recorded @AllistairMcCaw spending an hour or so with the Pathway Squad athletes and coaches, discussing his methodologies when working with his High Performance clients. Allistair is one of the worlds foremost Sports Performance consultants and is a long-time friend of Scottish Archery having spent 2 days with us back in 2018 and he has continued his involvement with us since then, mainly over Skype and telephone calls/emails.
You can check out Allistair’s website on www.allistairmccaw.com and his books are available in various formats via amazon.co.uk
The episode was a videoconference on Microsoft Teams and the questions were submitted in the majority beforehand but a few on the night were fielded from athletes and coaches by Alan Martin so ironically the only voices you really here through this episode are Allistair’s and Alan’s.
We hope you are enjoying The Nocking Point and please do follow us on twitter @TheNockingPoint or drop us a line on Podcast@scottisharchery.org.uk
