9 DEC 2022 · Mynydd Bettws is an area of high pasture above the main farm land of the estate, overlooking the Dee Valley. Possibly the best spot at Rhug for watching the sunset.

Mynydd Bettws is home to mixed grassland, small copses of trees and marshy areas. It is home to dry stone walls and a wide variety of songbirds and insects.

4 MAR 2022 · Ty Mawr is the name of the coastal farm for Rhug Estate. It is on the western coast of north Wales, near the ancient town of Caernarfon and near the Iron Age hillfort of Dinas Dinlle.

Ty Mawr is home to salt marsh, wetlands and organic grazing, land looking out across the Irish sea.

4 MAR 2022 · Plas yn Ddol is one of the historic farm sites at Rhug Estate. It sits on the banks of the Afon Alwen (River Alwen) towards the western edge of the estate, nestled under the slopes leading to Craig Arthbry and Mynydd Betws.

Plas yn Ddol translates from Welsh into English as 'hall in the meadow' or 'meadow hall', and when you look out from the edge of the farm across the fields of wild flowers bounded by ancient hedgerows you can see where the name came from.
This feels like a timeless landscape where you can immerse yourself in the sounds of nature.
