From Salini to Webuild, 20 years of major work
9 NOV 2020 · From Salini to Webuild - twenty years of growth, both externally and internally, that led to the creation of an international colossus with an overall order book of 40 billion euros, a workforce of 70,000 people employed both directly and indirectly and at least one project carried out in each of 110 counties. A process of growth that was begun in 2000 by Salini Spa, saw the acquisition of Impregilo and the creation of Salini Impregilo and, in 2020, celebrated the launch of Project Italy and a change of name to Webuild. Growth marked by the Group's financial evolution but also the construction of major works in Italy and around the world. From Copenhagen's driverless Cityringen underground railway to the Gerald Desmond Bridge of Long Beach, from the Riyadh Metro to Sydney’s Skytrain, from the new Panama Canal to Genoa’s Ponte San Giorgio, all major works designed and built to be environmentally sustainable.

The future of mobility in Texas is the high-speed train that will link Houston and Dallas. A cutting-edge railway that will cover the trip between Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth in less than 90 minutes, with trains every 30 minutes and an intermediate stop in Brazos Valley, the home of one of the most popular universities in the United States of America.
Construction of the work, in which the Webuild Group will take part, will require an overall investment of around 20 billion dollars but, once in operation, the train’s impact will be enormous. In its first 25 years of operation, this infrastructure will boost the Texan economy by 36 billion dollars, directly creating 17,000 jobs in its construction and another 20,000 in allied industries.
A unique enterprise with a catchment area of at least 13 million people. Many Texan citizens live less than an hour away from the three stops provided along the route.
