21 JUN 2020 · Oh zoom, you chased the day awaaaay...
Hiiiigh noon, the moon and stars came out to play...
Then my whole wide world went zoom!
Yes, all of our worlds these past few months have gone to Zoom! And Whistle Stop Week is no different. We decided to (virtually) get the band back together to record a lockdown special episode courtesy of everyone's favorite security-flawed webinar app!
Joining regular host Mark Turner, our irregular skippers Mark Barz and Carrie Simison, and joining them...well, you just need to listen. It's a circus! The gang cover COVID, murder hornets, virus stealing monkeys, Mount Everest, and blow the 'Hot Off The Press' round up SO spectacularly that it may never recover. ENJOY!

16 DEC 2019 · In 2018, we did it all again - this time with alcohol! Hic! Happy Holidays, indeed!
The ever hilarious Melody Klema (Clam Corp) and zinger-queen Coba Hoban joined in the festivities, pairing up with our regulars skippers Carrie 'Cerebus' Simison and Mark 'Santa' Barz. Host Mark Turner was chief reindeer corral-er. There were jokes, there was laughter, there was drinking, and there was...singing, God help us. Enjoy?

Our 2017 seasonal special featured host Mark Turner, team skippers Carrie Simison and Mark Barz, and guest panelists the lovely married pairing of Darcie and Ryan of Clan McHannigan! Enjoy!

23 SEP 2019 · Whistle Stop Week signs off, after 37 chaotic episodes spanning 3 glorious seasons!
Host Mark Turner, and captains Carrie Simison and Mark Barz recall their favorite and funniest moments, give each other a hard time as always, and play one more round of 'Hot Off The Press!' for your amusement!
As we bring this labor of love to a close, our sincerest heartfelt thanks to all of our amazing panelists - even those who weren't so amazing. You know who you are. No, not you. Yes, you.
Also, a huge gracias to our incredible sponsors, in particular, those who provided alcohol. You enabled us. I hope you're proud of yourselves.
And a final MASSIVE outpouring of LOVE to each and every one of our listeners, whether you tuned in locally (shout out to Colorado Springs!), via the interwebs across the US and overseas, through Tri-Lakes Radio, or on-campus at the now infamous Hofstra University. YOU made it all worth while. YOU made us want to do it. In short, it's your fault. Especially you, Trevor Bibic.
It's been a ride. Who knows...maybe there's another stop or two for us to make yet? But for now, we'll love you and leave you with these wise words of wisdom: listen to the 'Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me' podcast instead. It's a way better show than our's anyway. You're welcome!

31 MAR 2019 · It's the end of season 3 already. Doesn't it feel like only yesterday when we started? Lucky for you. For those involved in the show, it feels like a bloody eternity. What we mean is, we're so excited to bring you our season 3 finale!
Pairing up with cap'n Carrie Simison on this final go-around is show favorite Cola...I mean Cobra...COBA Hoban. And teaming up with skipper Mark Barz is DU founder (not that DU) and family member Andrew 'Barz Jr' Dwyer. It sucks getting old and forgetting names.

17 MAR 2019 · Turner returns to the hosting hot-seat! Carrie regales us with her math and grammar skills! Barz is sarcastic. It's business as usual in the Whistle Stop Week household!
Joining Skipper Simison is newbie to the show, stand-up comedian Andrew Ingram. And partnered up with Cap'n Barz, woman of wonder Michelle Asher. In our penultimate show of season 3, up is down, round 1 is round 3, round 3 is something entirely new, and Trump is...well, no, Trump is still Trump mores the pity.

1 MAR 2019 · With our regular host still AWOL, it's Carrie's turn to affect a ridiculous English accent and cajole our panelists through the news of the day.
Joining Carrie are regular team captain Mark Barz, stand-in skipper Coba 'My Grandmother was a Liar!' Hoban, Nick 'Why do you give your car a name?' Rothschild, and making her debut Chelsea 'HIC!' Berlingieri. In this animal-themed episode, the gang traverse Peppa Pig, zombie deer, and a dog named Trump...

14 FEB 2019 · With our regular host on hiatus, Barz takes up the mantle and attempts to herds the cats that are our typically rowdy panellists.
Joining Barz are regular team captain Carrie Simison and stand-in skipper Andrew 'chicken legs' Dwyer, and gyrating Jonathan Berry, and motor-mouth Lauren McKenzie. From Nelson Mandela to memory sticks in seal faeces, from Walt Disney to Waze and means, our panellists argue, fight, and yes, even cuss their way to points!

20 DEC 2018 · The holiday season is upon on us and with it, generous sponsors ply us with beer, cider and whiskey. It's a Christmas miracle that we were able to get through this episode at all!
Joining regular host Mark Turner, and team captains Carrie Simison and Mark Barz, the wonderfully witty Melody Klema, and the marvellously mad Coba Hoban. Like Santa himself we zig-zag the globe but in search of quiz-worthy news, with stops this episode including a chocolate covered Germany, a ball-boy-less Brazil, and both the foxholes of no man's land as well as the aging holes of one Miss Julia Roberts!
