Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer Shoot From Training To ECW

14 MAY 2024 · Shane Douglas, born Troy Allan Martin on November 21, 1964, is a retired professional wrestler best known for his time in Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW). Douglas, often referred to as "The Franchise," played a pivotal role in shaping the hardcore wrestling style that ECW became famous for. He is remembered for his intense promos, in-ring prowess, and his rebellious attitude that resonated with the ECW fan base. Tommy Dreamer, born Thomas James Laughlin on February 13, 1971, in Yonkers, New York, began his wrestling training under the tutelage of WWE Hall of Famer Johnny Rodz. Dreamer's passion for wrestling led him to dedicate countless hours to honing his skills at Rodz's wrestling school in Brooklyn, New York. During his early career, Dreamer teamed up with his friend and fellow wrestler, Taz (Peter Senerchia), to travel the independent circuit, participating in various "outlaw" shows. These shows, often unregulated and unsanctioned, provided a rough and unpredictable environment that helped both wrestlers develop their in-ring personas and build a grassroots following. Tommy Dreamer’s big break came when he joined Eastern Championship Wrestling (ECW), which later became Extreme Championship Wrestling. ECW, under the leadership of Paul Heyman, was a small, gritty promotion that aired late-night TV shows, often paying for television time. Dreamer's work ethic, dedication, and willingness to push his physical limits quickly made him a fan favorite. His feuds, particularly with Raven (Scott Levy), became legendary, establishing Dreamer as a hardcore icon. Dreamer’s loyalty to ECW and his ability to endure extreme punishment garnered him a cult following. Matches involving tables, ladders, chairs, and barbed wire became synonymous with his name. His never-say-die attitude and connection with the ECW audience solidified his status as a hardcore legend. After ECW closed in 2001, Dreamer continued his career in WWE and other wrestling promotions, always carrying the spirit of ECW with him.

The Shooting Range - New Jack Sandman Vampiro Konnan Francine

14 MAY 2024 · The Shooting Range" by Wrestling Planet is a compelling documentary that offers an unvarnished look into the backstage world of professional wrestling.  this 2004 film features candid interviews with notable wrestlers such as The Sandman, Vampiro, Konnan, New Jack, Chris Hamrick, and Vic Grimes. Forever Hardcore - The Documentary-ECW Wrestling Shoot

14 MAY 2024 · Forever Hardcore" is a 2005 documentary that delves into the history and legacy of Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW), a professional wrestling promotion that revolutionized the industry in the 1990s.  This Explicit documentary offers an unfiltered look at ECW's rise and fall, featuring interviews with many of the key figures involved in the promotion, excluding those under WWE contract.  ECW was founded in 1992 by Tod Gordon as Eastern Championship Wrestling, an affiliate of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). In 1993, Paul Heyman took over as head booker and rebranded the promotion to Extreme Championship Wrestling. ECW became known for its hardcore wrestling style, rabid fan base, and innovative storylines, which contrasted sharply with the mainstream offerings of WWE and WCW at the time.  Forever Hardcore" covers numerous pivotal moments in ECW's history, such as Shane Douglas breaking Gary Wolfe's neck, the infamous "Mass Transit incident," and the controversial crucifixion angle involving The Sandman. The documentary highlights the intense loyalty of the ECW fan base, which often played a significant role in the shows themselves, sometimes overshadowing the performers.  One of the central themes of the documentary is the financial and managerial turmoil within ECW. Paul Heyman, known for his charismatic yet manipulative leadership, is portrayed as both a visionary and a con artist. The documentary reveals that Vince McMahon and WWE secretly funded ECW during its later years, a fact that Heyman concealed from his performers. This financial arrangement allowed ECW to survive longer than it might have otherwise, but ultimately, the promotion declared bankruptcy in 2001.  The documentary also contrasts with WWE's own production, "The Rise and Fall of ECW," by including voices excluded from WWE's version. Notable interviewees in "Forever Hardcore" include Sabu, Shane Douglas, Terry Funk, Raven, The Sandman, and New Jack. Their candid stories and personal insights provide a raw and authentic look at the highs and lows of ECW's existence.  Overall, "Forever Hardcore" serves as a companion piece to WWE's documentary, offering a more independent and unfiltered perspective on the legacy of ECW, emphasizing the promotion's impact on wrestling and the personal experiences of those who lived through its tumultuous history.
