Story Transcript:

Ga: Bhí an ghaoth ag séideadh go láidir ar airsí Aillte an Mhothair.
En: The wind was blowing strongly at the cliffs of Aillte an Mhothair.

Ga: Bhí an fhómhar i mbarr a réime.
En: Autumn was in full swing.

Ga: Bhí duilleoga órga crochta ó na crainn, ag damhsa le gach ghaoth nimhneach a shéideadh.
En: Golden leaves hung from the trees, dancing with every fierce wind that blew.

Ga: Bhí an samhraí thart, agus bhraith tairní na haimsire an fómhar sin.
En: Summer was over, and the nails of time felt that autumn.

Ga: Bhí Aoife, Niall, agus Saoirse ann, ag breathnú ar an áilleacht thíos fúthu.
En: Aoife, Niall, and Saoirse were there, gazing at the beauty below them.

Ga: Bhí Aoife an-mhífhoighneach.
En: Aoife was very impatient.

Ga: Bhí méid éigin den t-eagla i gcónaí aici faoi cad a d'fhéadfadh dul amú.
En: She always had some fear about what could go wrong.

Ga: Bhí Niall praiticiúil agus i gcónaí réidh le haghaidh rud ar bith, ach an lá sin bhí a eagla roimh ardú á cheilt aige.
En: Niall was practical and always ready for anything, but that day he was hiding his fear of heights.

Ga: Bhí Saoirse, ar ndóigh, leamhánach agus lán de dhóchas.
En: Saoirse, of course, was carefree and full of hope.

Ga: Shíl sí gur chóir gach nóiméad a thaifeadadh ar a blag.
En: She thought every moment should be recorded on her blog.

Ga: Tharla tubaiste beag ansin.
En: A small mishap happened then.

Ga: Ghuigh Saoirse amach nuair a sciorr a fón póca as a lámh agus thit sé isteach san aigéan géar.
En: Saoirse cried out when her mobile phone slipped from her hand and fell into the sharp ocean.

Ga: Bhí turraing ar an triúr acu.
En: The three of them were shocked.

Ga: Bhí a fhón istigh san fharraige anois, ag titim isteach sna tonnta torbacha.
En: Her phone was now in the sea, falling into the turbulent waves.

Ga: “Cad a dhéanfaimid?” a dúirt Saoirse, a súile lán le brón.
En: "What will we do?" said Saoirse, her eyes full of sadness.

Ga: Bhí sí ag iarraidh é a fháil ar ais.
En: She wanted to get it back.

Ga: Bhí Aoife ag iarraidh iad a choinneáil suaimhneach.
En: Aoife was trying to keep them calm.

Ga: “Ná buartha, a Saoirse. Beimid ceart,” a dúirt sí, ag stadaint ar an eagla ag teacht suas i ligean air féin a bheith socair.
En: "Don’t worry, Saoirse. We'll be fine," she said, restraining the fear from rising within, pretending to be calm.

Ga: D'fhéach Niall ar an gcúinne ag imeacht san fharraige.
En: Niall looked at the corner disappearing into the sea.

Ga: Níor thaitin an smaoineamh le hé ag siúl i ngar do na haillte ar chor ar bith, ach bhí sé ag smaoineamh ar feadh soicind.
En: He didn't like the idea of walking near the cliffs at all, but he was thinking for a moment.

Ga: “B'fhéidir gur féidir linn bealach a aimsiú isteach thíos,” a mhol sé.
En: "Maybe we can find a way down," he suggested.

Ga: Bhí Saoirse fonnmhar triail a bhaint as.
En: Saoirse was eager to give it a try.

Ga: “Lig dom dul síos, táim caillte gan mo fhón sin!” a d'iarr sí go praistí.
En: "Let me go down, I’m lost without that phone!" she asked eagerly.

Ga: Bhí Aoife neamhshuaimhneach, agus bhí sé deacair di a thaobhanna a aimsiú.
En: Aoife was uneasy, and it was difficult for her to find her bearings.

Ga: Bhí an fhionnuisce ag ardú aici agus í ag iarraidh na daoine a choinneáil slán agus sásta.
En: She was anxious to keep everyone safe and happy.

Ga: D'oscail Niall a bhéal arís.
En: Niall spoke again.

Ga: “Ní fiú é, Saoirse. Is fearr dúinn glacadh leis,” a mhol sé, á tacú go soiléir in aghaidh a eagla féin.
En: "It’s not worth it, Saoirse. We should accept it," he advised, clearly supporting his own fear.

Ga: Bhí an chinneadh déanta acu ar deireadh.
En: They finally made their decision.

Ga: Bhí orthu slán a fhágáil leis.
En: They had to say goodbye to it.

Ga: Agus ansin, tháinig Aoife chun cinn.
En: And then, Aoife came forward.

Ga: “Bhuel, cad faoi téarnamh maith?” a bhí, iad go léir ag siúl i dteannta le chéile.
En: "Well, what about a nice recovery?" she said, as they all walked together.

Ga: "Tá coiste caillte ag taispeántas saoire Samhain sa sráidbhaile."
En: "There's a lost and found committee at the Samhain festival in the village."

Ga: Bhí gáire ag an triúr ar deireadh.
En: The three of them laughed at last.

Ga: Fiú Saoirse, a mhothaigh go raibh sí míshlánaithe, d'aimsigh sí luachmhaireacht sa phléisiúr a bhí acu le chéile.
En: Even Saoirse, who felt she was at a loss, found value in the pleasure they had together.

Ga: Sa deireadh, d'fhoghlaim Aoife nach raibh gach rud snasta de réir na pleananna.
En: In the end, Aoife learned that not everything gleamed according to plans.

Ga: D'aimsigh Niall faoiseamh beag ina eagla airde, agus d'admhaigh Saoirse go raibh scéal nua aici le n-insint ar a blag.
En: Niall found some relief in his fear of heights, and Saoirse admitted she had a new story to tell on her blog.

Ga: Bhí Samhain thart, ach bheadh scéalta nua acu i gcónaí le n-insint.
En: Samhain was over, but they would always have new stories to tell.
