This week we welcome rapper, father, entrepreneur Billboard Benny to kick it with us. We have a conversation about everything from drill music and rapping to fatherhood, mandatory paternity tests at birth, and bridging the gap between men and women in our community.

Benny talks about his journey with music and how has content has changed not only since becoming a father but also as he realized the impact we have on the generations after us. Is drill music stigmatized yet glamorized and do these rappers really live the life they rap about?

Should paternity tests be mandatory at birth to close the gap on single parent households? In addition, will this grant fathers more rights in a world that automatically appoints mothers as “Parent A” even though they may not be the best fit. We take the emotional aspect out of it and really get into how this may be beneficial not only for children but also for fathers as a whole, to simply be confident that the child that they’re caring for is actually theirs 🫢

Billboard Benny had an interesting point on whether or not men use masculinity as an excuse to disregard women’s opinions. What can be done to not only empower black women but to also bridge the gap between men and women in our community? “If you nurture a woman, you nurture a nation!” Truer words have never been spoken on this podcast.
