True Colors is a song by Cyndi Lauper, and that’s today’s topic in the music section of the InkPost. The song was released in 1986. It spent two weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100. It received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
You could tell that Cyndi Lauper loved all colors because sometimes her hair was red, then pink, blue, and all different colors. Whenever I thought of her, I thought of colors and her song, True Colors.
The song is written by Tom Kelly & Billy Steinberg. The song is beautiful song and Cyndi sings it with feeling. The lyrics are about a person with sad eyes, but Cyndi sings, “ I see your true colors shinning through. Don’t be afraid to let them show.” She sings as if those sad eyes really weren’t sad eyes at all.
