Story Transcript:

Ga: I bhfad siar i seanphub i gcroílár Bhaile Átha Cliath, thosaigh scéal nach ndéanfar dearmad air go deo.
En: Far back in the old pub in the heart of Dublin, a story began that will never be forgotten.

Ga: Bhí an oíche fuar, an spéir dubh, agus an gealach ag soilsiú na sráideanna cobbled.
En: It was a cold night, the sky was dark, and the moon was illuminating the cobbled streets.

Ga: Líon an pub le daoine ó gach cearn den chathair, agus iad uile ag cuartú teas agus comhrá maith.
En: The pub was filled with people from every corner of the city, all seeking warmth and good conversation.

Ga: Ba é Seamus, an fear mór le croí órga, ceann den slua.
En: Seamus, the big-hearted man with a golden heart, was one of the crowd.

Ga: Ina theannta, bhí Aoife, a chara dil, agus a capall breá, Éan bán, a sheas go foighneach lasmuigh den doras.
En: Alongside him was Aoife, his dear friend, and her beautiful horse, Éan bán, standing patiently outside the door.

Ga: Shleamhnaigh Seamus isteach sa pub, a oiread sin saol ag imeacht thart air, agus tharraing sé suíochán gar don teallach te.
En: Seamus slipped into the pub, with so much life revolving around him, and he pulled up a cozy seat near the warm hearth.

Ga: Aoife leis, a súile lonrach, bhí sí réidh chun oíche ciúin a bheith aici in éineacht le cara maith.
En: Beside him, Aoife, with her shining eyes, was ready to have a quiet evening with her good friend.

Ga: Ach, seo an rud: bhí Seamus beagáinín neirbhíseach, an cineál duine a chuirfeadh bia ar ordú do dhuine nach raibh ann.
En: But here's the thing: Seamus was a bit nervous, the kind of person who would put in an order for someone who wasn't there.

Ga: "Cuirfidh mé pionta Guinness orm féin," a d'fhógair sé leis an bhfreastalaí, a lámha ag crith mar dhuilleoga sa ghaoth.
En: "I'll have a pint of Guinness for myself," he announced to the bartender, his hands trembling like leaves in the wind.

Ga: "Agus.
En: "And... another one for my sweet horse outside."

Ga: ceann eile le haghaidh mo chapall mór milis lasmuigh.
En: At first, Aoife didn't understand.

Ga: "Níor thuig Aoife i dtosach.
En: She raised her brow and her eyes fell.

Ga: D'ardaigh sí a mala agus síos thit a súile.
En: "For your horse, Seamus?"

Ga: "Do capall, a Shéamuis?
En: He nodded heavily.

Ga: "Nod sé le ceann trom.
En: "He's earned it."

Ga: "Tá sé tuillte aige.
En: Everyone in the pub was surprised.

Ga: "Bhí iontas ar aghaidh gach duine sa phub.
En: It was clear that this story was unheard of before.

Ga: Bhí sé soiléir nach raibh teacht ar an scéal seo roimhe.
En: You see, there's no discrimination in Dublin pubs, but it's not often that a horse is invited inside.

Ga: Féach, ní dhéantar idirdhealú i bpubanna Bhaile Átha Cliath, ach ní minic a thugtar cuireadh do chapall taobh istigh fós.
En: The bartender placed the pint of Guinness on the counter with a twinkle in his eye.

Ga: Chuir an freastalaí an pionta Guinness ar an gcuntar le méalaíocht sna súile aige.
En: "Here you go," he said, "but, take care of that horse!"

Ga: "Seo leat," ar sé, "ach, tabhair aire don chapall sin!
En: Seamus and Aoife guided the big black pint out to Éan bán, who stood patiently.

Ga: "Threoraigh Seamus agus Aoife an pionta mór dubh amach chuig Éan bán, a sheas go foighneach.
En: Excitement spread across the faces of everyone in the pub, brought to attention by this unusual event.

Ga: Bhí sceitimíní ar aghaidh gach duine sa pub, curtha in airde ag an eachtra aisteach seo.
En: Aoife offered the pint to the horse, and something unexpected happened.

Ga: Chuir Aoife an pionta amach chun an chapall, agus tharla rud nach raibh súil ag éinne leis.
En: Nobody anticipated it.

Ga: Ghlaodh Éan bán, a shúile gorma ag taisteal ón pionta go dtí Aoife.
En: Éan bán, with his blue eyes, took a sip from the pint, traveling from the glass to Aoife.

Ga: Dhún sé a shúile, boladh sé an líon dubh, agus íospartach, rith sé a teanga timpeall imill an ghlais.
En: He closed his eyes, savored the dark liquid, and playfully circled his tongue around the glass.

Ga: Nuair a d'oscail sé a shúile arís, bhí gáire air, agus ar gach aghaidh sa phub, agus spléach aiste ar an saol.
En: When he opened his eyes again, he had a smile, and on every face in the pub, a surprised and amused expression.

Ga: Oíche aisteach agus íontach a bhí ann, nuair a cheannaigh Seamus pionta Guinness dá chapall, ag cruthú scéalta do na glúine atá le teacht.
En: It was a peculiar and wonderful night when Seamus bought a pint of Guinness for his horse, creating stories for the generations to come.

Ga: Agus aoibh gáire ar a aghaidh, thuig sé gur féidir leis an ngníomh is simplí den chairdeas spiorad na cathrach seo, go háirithe ina hallaí dorcha gealaí, a lasadh.
En: With a smiling face, he understood that the simplest act of friendship can ignite the spirit of this city, especially in its brightly lit dark halls.
