Story Transcript:
Ga: Lá breá gréine a bhí ann i gCúige Mumhan, sa tír draíochta is áille dá bhfuil ann, Éire.
En: It was a beautiful sunny day in the province of Munster, in the magical and stunning land of Ireland.
Ga: Bhí Aoife, cailín bríomhar le gruaig óir lonrach, ar a turas go Cloch na Blarnan le triúr dá cairde, Cillian agus Seamus.
En: Aoife, a lively girl with shiny golden hair, was on her way to Cloch na Blarnan with her three friends, Cillian and Seamus.
Ga: Bhí siad go léir ar bís le héacht mhór na háite a fháil - póg a thabhairt don chloch mhór cáiliúil agus gnaoi na cainte a bhailiú mar thoradh.
En: They were all excited to experience the great magic of the place - to kiss the famous big stone and gather the essence of the language as a result.
Ga: Nuair a shroich siad an cloch, bhí an ghrian ag damhsa ar a dromchla garbh agus scéalta draíochta ag sníomh timpeall orthu.
En: When they reached the stone, the sun was dancing on its rough surface and magical stories spun around them.
Ga: Aoife, atá i gcónaí ag iarraidh a bheith foirfe agus ceart, bhí sí cinnte go mbeadh an lá seo ina chuimhneachán go deo.
En: Aoife, who always wanted to be perfect and correct, was sure that this day would be a memory forever.
Ga: Ar dtús, is ar éigean a bhí sí in ann dréimire na cloiche a dhreapadh toisc go raibh an oiread sin sceitimíní uirthi.
En: At first, she could barely climb the stone due to the excitement.
Ga: Chaith Cillian agus Seamus magadh uirthi, ag rá nach mbeadh sí in ann an cloch a bhaint amach.
En: Cillian and Seamus teased her, saying she wouldn't be able to reach the stone.
Ga: Ach, le misneach, d'éirigh le Aoife dul in airde agus shuí sí ar an mballa, ag síneadh síos i dtreo na cloiche mágúla.
En: But, with determination, Aoife managed to climb up and sat on the wall, leaning towards the majestic stone.
Ga: "Anois," arsa Aoife léi féin, "tá mé réidh chun póg mór a thabhairt don chloch seo agus a bheith mar an cainteoir is binne i dteannta na gcainteoirí go léir.
En: "Now," Aoife said to herself, "I am ready to give this big stone a kiss and be the sweetest speaker among all speakers."
Ga: "Ach, anseo a thosaigh an dráma!
En: But here the drama began!
Ga: Díreach sula bhain Aoife a sprioc amach, chas Seamus a ceann go tobann, agus gan fhios di, phóg Aoife é seachas an cloch!
En: Just before Aoife could reach her goal, Seamus suddenly turned his head, and unknowingly, he kissed Aoife instead of the stone!
Ga: An t-uafás!
En: What a disaster!
Ga: An mearbhall!
En: What confusion!
Ga: An greann!
En: What humor!
Ga: Bhí gáire mór ag Cillian nuair a thuig sé a tharla.
En: Cillian laughed a lot when he realized what had happened.
Ga: "Ó, Aoife, is tú atá tar éis an draoi cainte a phógáil anois!
En: "Oh, Aoife, you've kissed the speaking wizard now!"
Ga: " a mhagadh sé.
En: he teased.
Ga: Aoife, dearg le náire agus le greann, bhain a bealach ar ais ón mballa, í ag gáire lena cairde.
En: Aoife, red with embarrassment and amusement, made her way back from the wall, laughing with her friends.
Ga: "Nach mise an t-amadán thú a Seamus?
En: "Aren't I the fool, Seamus?
Ga: Póg gan taisme!
En: A kiss by mistake!"
Ga: " arsa sí.
En: she said.
Ga: Seamus, ag gáire le crá croí, dúirt le Aoife, "Ní hé sin an chloch draíochta, ach mo dhá ghrua liom!
En: Seamus, laughing with a heavy heart, said to Aoife, "That's not the magic stone, but my two cheeks!
Ga: Anois, caithfidh tú éisteacht le mo scéalta go deo!
En: Now you must listen to my stories forever!"
Ga: "An lá dár gcionn, chuir an triúr cairde fámaireacht arís chun na Blarnan, an turas seo le bheith cinnte go bhfaigheadh Aoife a póg ceart.
En: The next day, the three famous friends set off for Blarnan again, this time to make sure Aoife would get her proper kiss.
Ga: Tháinig siad agus iad lán le dóchas.
En: They came, brimming with hope.
Ga: Agus an uair seo, le gáire agus spraoi, phóg Aoife an cloch féin go ceart.
En: And this time, with laughter and fun, Aoife kissed the stone correctly.
Ga: An raibh gnaoi na cainte aici anois?
En: Did she have the essence of the language now?
Ga: Bhuel, ní hé sin a bhí tábhachtach - bhí an cuimhne agus an cairdeas a cruthaíodh ina measc i bhfad níos draíochtúla.
En: Well, that wasn’t important - the memory and the friendship that were formed among them were far more magical.
Ga: Ón lá sin ar aghaidh, chreid siad i gcónaí gur féidir le póg mhícheart na scéalta is suimiúla a chruthú, agus gur féidir le póg cheart draíocht na cainte a nochtadh.
En: From then on, they always believed that a wrong kiss could create the most interesting stories, and that the right kiss could reveal the magic of language.
Ga: Agus ní dhearna Aoife dearmad riamh air sin, bíodh sé i mbeannú leathana aoibhinn nó i scéal taitneamhach a insint.
En: And Aoife never forgot that, be it in delightful blessings or in telling entertaining stories.
Ga: Agus is amhlaidh sin a chríochnaíonn ár scéal, le gáire agus amhrán, agus scéal grinn grá a mbeidh éacht inti i gcroíthe Aoife, Cillian, agus Seamus go brách.
En: And that's how our story ends, with laughter and song, and a funny love story that will remain a wonder in the hearts of Aoife, Cillian, and Seamus forever.
