Story Transcript:

Af: Op 'n helder oggend, net soos die son begin opkom het en die voëls begin tjirp het, het Johan vroeg wakker geword.
En: On a clear morning, just as the sun began to rise and the birds began to chirp, Johan woke up early.

Af: Vandag was nie 'n gewone dag nie, nee, vandag was die dag van die Boeremark in die dorpie waar hy saam met sy vriendin Lizelle sou stalletjies gaan besoek.
En: Today was not an ordinary day, no, today was the day of the Farmer's Market in the little town where he and his girlfriend Lizelle would visit stalls.

Af: Met sy grys hoed styf op sy kop gedruk en 'n mandjie op sy arm, stap Johan vinnig deur die strate, sy voetstappe is vol opwinding.
En: With his gray hat pressed firmly on his head and a basket on his arm, Johan quickly walked through the streets, his footsteps filled with excitement.

Af: Die Boeremark was 'n plek waar iedereen in die gemeenskap bymekaar kom om vars produkte te koop en te verkoop, 'n plek waar lag en gesels die lug vul.
En: The Farmer's Market was a place where everyone in the community gathered to buy and sell fresh products, a place filled with laughter and conversation.

En: Johan agreed and picked up the basket full of eggs.

Af: Maar toe, o nee!
En: But then, oh no!

Af: Johan se hand glip en die kratter val tot op die grond met 'n luid gedonder.
En: Johan's hand slipped and the basket fell to the ground with a loud crash.

Af: Eiers bars oop en die geel en wit loop oor Johan se skoene.
En: Eggs cracked open and the yolk and white spilled onto Johan's shoes.

Af: 'n Skok golf loop deur die mark, en toe, na wat soos 'n ewigheid voel, bars almal uit van die lag.
En: A shock wave ran through the market, and then, after what felt like an eternity, everyone burst out laughing.

En: Johan stood there, shaken and with egg on his clothes, but Lizelle quickly approached, a warm smile on her face.

En: A little child approached with a sunshine smile and gave him a cluster of grapes, "to make your day better," said the child.

En: Lizelle and Johan walked away from the stall, hand in hand, laughing about the morning's adventure.
