Prosecutors are debating over who should hold Oxford school officials accountable for the tragedy that happened at the high school. Free Press ace Tresa Baldas (and ML’s wife) joins Marc, Shawn and ML to discuss the latest developments, and how Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald and Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel are handling it.

STRAIGHT DOPE: ML considers starting the show with a discussion of his latest column, an expose on how the “naughty thoughts” of a Highland Park school board member caused the debt-laden district to pay out $1.8 million to its former chief executive, but realizes he better let his wife do the talking. Again. To read the column, click this link.

Shawn again objectifies ML, commenting on his appearance and penchant for skinny ties.

Salzburg is known as one of the most fun towns in Austria, which is why it’s especially puzzling that Shawn knows it for the salt times.

Tresa discusses the latest in the Oxford High School tragedy and a dispute over the role the Michigan attorney general may play in the case. Read one of her latest exclusives here.

Marc seizes the opportunity to do one of his favorite things: Dive deep into the legal implications of a case.

Do different officials have different subpoena powers? Tresa explains.

Shawn questions how responsible school officials, who oversee hundreds of students, should be held when one of the students acts out. A lively discussion ensues, involving how police and teachers don’t get the credit – and support – they deserve.

Tresa sets the record straight on something Oakland County officials said after the shooting that just wasn’t true. Listen and learn.

Shawn, who shares the sunny outlook of the former front man of The Smiths, disses Morrissey anyway.

GEEK OF THE WEEK
Netflix is this week’s geek for its handling of the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson fight, but not before Shawn and Marc wax poetically over the decline of the Sweet Science.

ROOM 7609: ML’s fellow Smiths fan Kevin books Morrissey into the New Wave suite to perform a cover of “Trash,” then challenges the crew to guess who first recorded the post-punk classic. Send us your favorite deep cut or obscure band – and a story about them or why they mean something to you – by writing to mlsoulofdetroit@gmail.com.

FEEDBACK: Mike Duggan, Donald Trump and Mitch Albom are on listeners’ minds. We welcome all your comments – and constructive criticism – at mlsoulofdetroit@gmail.com
