Jesus has a message for each of the seven churches, and for each church, He follows the same format.
Intro - Jesus introduces Himself in such a way that would mean something for that specific church
Encouragement - Jesus tells the church what they are doing well
Rebuke - Jesus tells the church what they are NOT doing well
Repent - Jesus calls them to repent
Consequences - Jesus tells them what will happen if they DON'T repent
Reward - Jesus shares an eternal reward for "those who conquer"
For this week, we did the church in Pergamum! This church is commended for holding fast to face in INTENSE persecution, but rebuked for some faulty teachings they're adhering to, which adds up to this: Following Jesus means allegiance and adherence.
