Story Transcript:
En: Milica sighed, navigating the uncertain sidewalks of Belgrade, weaving through people and lively street flower vendors.
En: It wasn't easy to find a familiar face in such a crowd, she imagined, as if she carried her worries within herself.
En: She glanced at the city square, adorned with sculptures of the city's greatest heroes.
En: And what shone brighter than a bronze human figure under the sun?
En: Her gaze was fixed on one sculpture - Dragan.
En: Milica smiled and began to approach him.
En: With a suitcase on her shoulder, a coat in her hand, a cap on her head, and her eyes on Dragan, she walked towards him.
En: Her comical steps, skillfully crisscrossing the audience, led her to the base of his pedestal.
En: As one usually does with old friends, she smiled and waved, ready to softly touch his cheek with her lips.
En: Dragan's timeless stone-like appearance did not play into her sinful assumption.
En: She turned her head and met a cold, unyielding bronze.
En: In that quiet moment, the air seemed to stiffen.
En: People, creaking and whispering, came to a halt.
En: Milica abruptly opened her eyes and stopped in her tracks.
En: The dead silence was broken only by the dull sound of her coat, which, freed from her grasp, fell onto the cold sidewalk.
En: Everyone present fell silent, then began to laugh.
En: A smile on her face was her only option to match the absurdity, but the smile on her face became playful.
En: If Dragan were alive, maybe he would find humor in his immobile peril as well.
En: But yes, for this story, we must be content with Milica's smile and general annoyance.
En: She wiped a tiny speck of bronze from her lips, sat on a bench beneath the sculpture, and tilted her head back in amusement.
En: Milica was a lesson, that laughter must be found even in the most unpleasant moments.
En: And she would forgive everything, imagine, statues in the heart of Belgrade!
