Story Transcript:

He: היום היה שונה.
En: Today was different.

He: אברהם, הקונדיטור המוכשר של תל אביב, חיה יום מוזר.
En: Avraham, the talented confectioner from Tel Aviv, had a strange day.

He: מאצהדה 6 בבוקר, משעה שהסם התחיל להתרוקן מהערים שלו, סימנים של משהו לא תקני החלו להופיע.
En: From Ma'atzehedeh 6 in the morning, when the silence began to fade from his streets, signs of something abnormal began to appear.

He: למרות כל האהבה למקצוע שלו, דבר מוזר קרה לאברהם היום.
En: Despite his love for his profession, something strange happened to Avraham today.

He: אחרי שסיים לכנות את כל המאפים והעוגות, הגיע הזמן להכין את הקינוחים.
En: After finishing baking all the pastries and cakes, it was time to make the desserts.

He: אברהם התחיל לעבוד עם המאפים הקטנים והמתוקים, אך מוקדם מדי הוא שם לב שהוא משתמש ברוטב החריף במקום הרוטב המתוק שהעדיף להשתמש בו.
En: Avraham started working with the small and sweet pastries, but too soon he realized that he was using the spicy sauce instead of the sweet sauce that he preferred to use.

He: לא נורא, חשב אברהם, אכפת לי אם קצת רוטב חריף יכנס לקינוח?
En: No worries, Avraham thought, what's the harm if a little spicy sauce gets into the dessert?

He: המחשבה הזו עברה לו בראש עד שתמר הכניסה את הראש שלה לחנות.
En: That thought crossed his mind until Tamara entered the shop.

He: תמר, הלקוחה האהובה עליו, הכניסה את השמחה אל חנותו עם ציוץ בעיניים, יודעת שאברהם יכביד לה כמה מהמאפים המתוקים שהיא אוהבת.
En: Tamara, his beloved customer, entered his shop with a sparkle in her eyes, knowing that Avraham would spoil her with some of the sweet pastries that she loved.

He: אך תמר הרגישה משהו שונה היום.
En: But Tamara felt something different today.

He: הקינוח שנראה כל כך מתוק בעיניים היה ממש ממש חריף.
En: The dessert that looked so sweet in her eyes was actually very very spicy.

He: אולם, תמר, עם המוסר הנכון שלה, החליטה שהיא לא תזעזע את אברהם וחרפה את הקינוח בסמיכה חמה.
En: However, Tamara, with her right moral compass, decided that she would not dismay Avraham and disgrace the dessert with a hot complaint.

He: אברהם, שרצה לשאול אותה על הקינוח, חש את החולשה המתפשטת ועצר את עצמו.
En: Avraham, who wanted to ask her about the dessert, felt the spreading weakness and restrained himself.

He: אחרי שתמר הלכה, אברהם הרגיש את החריף בטונג שלו.
En: After Tamara left, Avraham felt the spiciness on his tongue.

He: הוא נבוך.
En: He felt embarrassed.

En: He actually put spicy sauce instead of sweet sauce on his dessert.

He: אחרי שנים רבות, כשההתרסהות על פניו נרתמה, אברהם הבין שהיה זקוק להפסקה.
En: After many years, when regret covered his face, Avraham realized that he needed a break.

He: אברהם החליט לקחת הפסקה, לצאת לנשימה רעננה בגני השטח.
En: Avraham decided to take a break, to go out for a refreshing breath in the gardens.

He: הוא תמיד אהב לראות את הים, את החול, את הרוחש של האנשים.
En: He always loved to see the sea, the sand, and the murmuring of the people.

He: אברהם למד שטעויות יכולות להיעשות, אפילו אם אתה כ"כ מנוסה במקצוע שלך.
En: Avraham learned that mistakes can happen, even if you are so experienced in your profession.

He: אז הוא גם למד כיצד לתקן אותם.
En: So he also learned how to fix them.

He: היום הזה הביא לו שיעור חשוב.
En: This day brought him an important lesson.

He: הוא חזר לחנותו בים, התנצל בפני תמר והכינה לה קינוח חדש ממש.
En: He returned to his shop at the shore, apologized to Tamara and prepared for her a completely new dessert.

He: תמר חייכה, נתנה לו דחיפה קטנה ואמרה בחיוך שהיא תמיד תמשיך לבוא אליו בגלל שהוא הקונדיטור הכי טוב שהיא מכירה, אפילו אם הוא יעשה שגיאות פעם בפעם.
En: Tamara smiled, gave him a little push, and said with a smile that she will always come to him because he is the best confectioner she knows, even if he makes mistakes from time to time.

He: אז, בסופו של דבר, אברהם היה מרוצה.
En: So, in the end, Avraham was satisfied.
