Story Transcript:

Ja: 新宿の仕事帰りの暗い路地、アキラは形だけの弁当箱とほとんど役立たずな折畳み傘を手に握っていた。
En: On a dark alley in Shinjuku on his way back home from work, Akira held onto a lunchbox that was just for show and a nearly useless folding umbrella.

Ja: そんな彼に、込み合った夜の電車が待っていた。
En: A crowded night train awaited him.

Ja: 電車は魚の群れのように混み合っていた。
En: The train was packed like a school of fish.

Ja: アキラは光も乏しい小さな空間で何とか立つことができた。
En: Akira managed to stand somehow in the dimly lit small space.

Ja: 彼の心は、雨と混乱の中で皿に残るご飯以上の空白を抱えていた。
