Lt: Saulė ką tik buvo prasiskverbę tarp dangoraižių viršūnių kai Lukas su Gintare pasuko pro prekystalius.
En: The sun had just broken through between the tops of the skyscrapers as Lukas and Gintare made their way through the market stalls.

Lt: Šiandien jie vyko į spūstyje knibždantį turgų pirkti daržovių šventiniam vakarienei.
En: Today, they were going to the bustling market to buy vegetables for a festive dinner.

Lt: Aštrūs prieskonių kvapai ir ūžesys apgaubė juos tarsi rūkas.
En: The sharp scents of spices and the hustle and bustle enveloped them like a fog.

Lt: Aušra, Gintarės geriausia draugė, dar pirkinių nepadariusi skubėjo pro turgaus vidurį.
En: Aušra, Gintare's best friend, who hadn't finished her shopping, hurried through the middle of the market.

Lt: Ji mėgo čia atvykti pirkti šviežių vaisių ir ragauti skirtingų sellerių arbatų.
En: She enjoyed coming here to buy fresh fruits and sample different kinds of celery teas.

Lt: Medžiagų spalvos ir gausybės gausa verčia akis raibuliuti.
En: The colors and abundance of materials made the eyes wander.

Lt: Bet Lukas neturėjo laiko žavėtis.
En: But Lukas didn't have time to marvel.

Lt: Jis turėjo užduotį – surasti tobulą arbūzą.
En: He had a mission - to find the perfect watermelon.

Lt: Pasidalinus sąrašą, Gintarė nuėjo ieškoti žalumynų, o Lukas liko prie vaisių.
En: After sharing the list, Gintarė went to look for greenery, and Lukas stayed by the fruits.

En: He turned from the brightly green little mounds to the large, round watermelons.

Lt: Pasirinkti buvo sunku, bet gyvenime jis mokėjo iššūkių.
En: It was difficult to choose, but he was skilled at challenges in life.

Lt: Su užsidegimu, tarsi ieškodamas brangakmenio, jis tikrino kiekvieną užapvalintą vaisių, kabodamas, svėrė jį rankose.
En: With enthusiasm, as if searching for a gemstone, he examined each rounded fruit, tapping and weighing them in his hands.

Lt: Tuo tarpu turguje susikūrė dar didesnė sumaištis.
En: Meanwhile, an even greater confusion arose in the market.

Lt: Prekiautojai šaukdami siūlė savo prekes, o pirkėjai siekė persimesti žodžiu ar pabandė jas apčiuopti.
En: Traders shouted offering their goods, while buyers tried to shout back or touch them.

Lt: Žmonės judėjo lyg upės srovė, neleisdamos Lukui išlikti ramiam.
En: People moved like a river's current, not letting Lukas stay calm.

Lt: Visai netikėtai, Lukas pajuto, kaip kas nors paliečia jo petį.
En: Suddenly, Lukas felt someone touch his shoulder.

Lt: Neatsigręždamas ir dar nebaigęs savo arbūzo paieškos užduoties, jis akimirkos sprendimu sukibo su tuo, ką manė esant Gintarės galva.
En: Without turning around and not yet finishing his watermelon quest, he impulsively leaned into what he thought was Gintarė's head.

Lt: Tačiau vietoj švelnių žmonos plaukų jis pajuto šaltą, šlapią arbūzo paviršių.
En: However, instead of his wife's soft hair, he felt the cold, wet surface of a watermelon.

Lt: "Oho!
En: "Oops!

Lt: Lukai, ką tu?
En: Lukas, what are you doing?"

Lt: " nustebo šalia stovinti Gintarė, nekantraudama parodyti surastų fantastiškų svogūnų.
En: Gintarė, standing next to him, exclaimed impatiently, eager to show off the fantastic onions she had found.

Lt: Lukas nusivylęs ir šiek tiek suglumęs atsisuko ir pagaliau pamatė savo klaidą.
En: Disappointed and somewhat flustered, Lukas turned around and finally saw his mistake.

Lt: Šypsojosi.
En: He smiled.

Lt: Gintarė taip pat pradėjo juoktis.
En: Gintarė also began to laugh.

Lt: "Na, nors jūsų meile arbūzams mane niekas nepralenks!
En: "Well, no one can beat me in your love for watermelons!"

Lt: " keistokai šypsojosi Aušra, pamačiusi sceną prie vaisių prekystalio.
En: Aušra said strangely, seeing the scene at the fruit stall.

Lt: Išgėrę arbatos ir nusipirkę visą reikalingų prekių sąrašą, Lukas su Gintarė ir Aušra paliko turgų besišnekučiuodami ir besijuokdami iš nuotykių pirkdami arbūzą.
En: After drinking tea and buying everything they needed, Lukas, Gintare, and Aušra left the market, chatting and laughing about the adventures of buying a watermelon.

Lt: Vakare, šventinis stalas buvo puoštas spalvingų daržovių ir to paties lemtingo arbūzo, kuris visiems priminė dienos juoką.
En: In the evening, the festive table was adorned with colorful vegetables and the same fateful watermelon, which reminded everyone of the day's laughter.

Lt: Lukas pažadėjo, kad kitą kartą atpažins savo žmoną net ir didžiausiame turgaus šurmulio centre.
En: Lukas promised that next time, he would recognize his wife even in the busiest center of the market.

Lt: Ir šis vakaras jiems visiems įsiminė kaip šiltas vasaros prisiminimas – turgaus nuotykių ir meilės arbūzams diena.
En: And this evening became a warm summer memory for all of them - the day of market adventures and love for watermelons.
