Story Transcript:

Lt: Vilniaus senamiestyje žiemos saulė švelniai švietė.
En: In the old town of Vilnius, the winter sun shone gently.

Lt: Gediminas vaikščiojo siaurų gatvelių vingiais.
En: Gediminas walked through the winding narrow streets.

Lt: Jis mėgsta senamiestį, kur namai spalvoti ir siauri, o grindinys senovinis.
En: He loves the old town, where the houses are colorful and narrow, and the pavement is ancient.

Lt: Vieną popietę, kai Gediminas sustojo prie Pilies gatvės, prie jo priėjo grupė turistų.
En: One afternoon, as Gediminas stopped by Pilies Street, a group of tourists approached him.

Lt: „Labas!
En: "Hello!

Lt: Ar galite padėti mums?
En: Can you help us?"

Lt: “ paklausė vienas turistas.
En: asked one tourist.

Lt: „Žinoma,“ atsakė Gediminas su šypsena.
En: "Of course," Gediminas replied with a smile.

Lt: „Kur norite eiti?
En: "Where do you want to go?"

Lt: “„Mes norime rasti Aušros vartus,“ tarė turistas.
En: "We want to find the Gate of Dawn," the tourist said.

Lt: Gediminas prisiminė vietą.
En: Gediminas remembered the place.

Lt: „Žinau, kaip ten eiti.
En: "I know how to get there.

Lt: Eikite tiesiai pirmyn, tada suksite į kairę.
En: Go straight ahead, then turn left."

Lt: “Turistai padėkojo ir pradėjo eiti.
En: The tourists thanked him and started walking.

Lt: Gediminas juos sekė akimis, šypsodamasis.
En: Gediminas watched them with a smile.

Lt: Po dešimties minučių jis pamatė tuos pačius turistus grįžtančius.
En: Ten minutes later, he saw the same tourists returning.

Lt: „Labas,“ pasakė turistas.
En: "Hello," said the tourist.

Lt: „Mes einame ratu.
En: "We're going in circles."

Lt: “Gediminas nustebo.
En: Gediminas was surprised.

Lt: „Aš jums padėjau?
En: "Did I help you?"

Lt: “„Taip, bet mes vis grįžtame čia.
En: "Yes, but we keep ending up back here," the tourist replied.

Lt: “Gediminas susimastė.
En: Gediminas pondered.

Lt: „Galbūt aš jums parodysiu kelią?
En: "Maybe I should show you the way?"

Lt: “ Turistai linktelėjo.
En: The tourists nodded.

Lt: Gediminas pradėjo eiti pirmyn, turistai sekė.
En: Gediminas started to walk forward, and the tourists followed.

Lt: Sukdami kairėn ir dešinėn, jie vaikščiojo siaurais skersgatviais.
En: Turning left and right, they walked through the narrow alleys.

Lt: Tačiau po kurio laiko vėl atsidūrė toje pačioje vietoje.
En: However, after a while, they found themselves in the same place again.

Lt: Turistai juokėsi, o Gediminas raudonavo iš gėdos.
En: The tourists laughed, and Gediminas blushed with embarrassment.

Lt: „Atrodo, mes einame ratu!
En: "It seems we're going in circles!"

Lt: “ pripažino Gediminas su šypsena.
En: Gediminas admitted with a smile.

Lt: Jie visi juokėsi kartu.
En: They all laughed together.

Lt: Gediminas stabtelėjo.
En: Gediminas paused.

Lt: „Atsiprašau.
En: "Sorry.

Lt: Dabar žinau, kur suklydau.

En: They walked straight and, after passing some buildings, turned right, then left, and suddenly, in front of them, appeared the Gate of Dawn.

Lt: Touristai buvo patenkinti.
En: The tourists were delighted.

Lt: „Ačiū!
En: "Thank you!"

Lt: “ džiūgavo jie.
En: they cheered.

Lt: Gediminas atsikvėpė ir plačiai nusišypsojo.
En: Gediminas sighed in relief and smiled broadly.

Lt: „Džiaugiuosi, kad padėjau.
En: "I'm glad I could help.

Lt: Nepamirškite mėgautis Vilniaus grožiu.
En: Don't forget to enjoy the beauty of Vilnius."

Lt: “Turistai linktelėjo ir pradėjo tyrinėti Aušros vartų grožį.
En: The tourists nodded and began to explore the beauty of the Gate of Dawn.

Lt: Gediminas pasijuto geriau ir patraukė atgal į savo kelionę po Vilniaus senamiestį, juokdamasis savęs atsimindamas.
En: Gediminas felt better and continued his journey through the old town of Vilnius, laughing as he remembered himself.

Lt: Vilniui saulėlydis atėjo, o Gediminas toliau vaikščiojo sutemusiu senamiesčiu.
En: As the sunset came to Vilnius, Gediminas continued to walk through the now-darkened old town.
