Supreme Court Rules Against School That Made Girls Wear Skirts Because They're 'Fragile Vessels'

After being ruled against in Federal court, the Leland Charter school in North Carolina appealed all the way to the Supreme Count, where justices declined to hear the appeal without comment.At stake was their policy of requiring girls to wear skirts due to them being “weaker vessels”. They argued that girls should be required to wear skirts because they must be handled “more gently than boys", even during physical education and recess.Founder Baker Michael, invoked the Columbine shooting in an email when asked as to why the girls couldn’t wear pants. He said this as a way to “preserve chivalry and respect among young women and men in this school of choice.”The appeal being denied was originally decided in the Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. In their ruling they wrote that the dress code “blatantly perpetuates harmful gender stereotypes”. They went further and added “Nothing in the Equal Protection Clause prevents public schools from teaching universal values of respect and kindness, but those values are never advanced by the discriminatory treatment of girls in a public school.”How scientific is a Charter School based upon “the four classical virtues of prudence Justice fortitude and Temperance” along with the “three attributes of faith hope and charity” is one of many questions posed.In an instant-classic rant, Phoebe demonstrates how this is not only misogynistic, but reeks of misandry as well.
