Most movies give you only one, two, or possibly three of the above, but only one film created in human history has the chutzpah to cram all FOUR of them in plus a lot of other meaningless stuff. That film is the subject of today's Motion Picture Men episode, the hit 1980s action flick Miami Connection In part 1 of 2 the former BTBs go through the cast of this film, none of which have ever worked in Hollywood before or since its release. They also talk the cult hit's rediscovery in the aughts, producer/director/actor/Taekwondo black belt Y.K. Will John's deceitful ways come back to haunt him, or will he right the ship in time to rescue the marriage he doesn't care about?  Brian, Van, and Spencer talk about the movie's wild misunderstanding of human life, the world's weirdest business meeting, and a private investigator who should have been the main character. Later, Spencer introduces a much different movie for the podcast's next round as the Motion Picture Men!

31 MAY 2024 · The Boob Tube Boys have again stumbled into a magical abandoned movie theater and emerged as the Motion Picture Men! Van, Brian, and Spencer often watch films of questionable quality together; why not join them? Up first is Online (2013), an evangelical tale of temptation, technology, and fake accents John's ex-girlfriend Adrianna is back in town, and when she messages him on something called http://socialfriendpages.com/, he immediately struggles to remain faithful in his marriage. Will John honor his marriage? Will he land a big cosmetics client despite a total lack of business acumen? The fellas have fun with this one, and they'll be back for part two next week!

24 MAY 2024 · The BTBs make a return trip to the world of their childhood as they cover two more episodes of the 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon. They'll encounter several notable characters along the way including the return of Leatherhead, the wisecracking, cajun stereotype of an alligator. But there's more than that as we also find hockey mask wearing vigilante Casey Jones (who just likes to break things) and the mysterious (and filthy) Rat King! 10 MAY 2024 · It's a monumental moment in the history of the Boob Tube Boys as the one and only Leatherhead, the gator who knows a good jambalya when he sees it, makes an actual appearance on the show the boys are covering. That's right it's not just Van or Brian bringing him up for no reason, he's actually here! That's all because Van has selected the animated 1987 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, one of the few shows that captivated all three tubers as children. These are the pizza slingin', sass having, turtle teens that catapulted the franchise into the stratosphere. We learn about the humble origins of the reptiles, how every voice actor in the show was also a voice actor in Metal Gear Solid, and just how much fun it is to do both a Cajun accent and make alligator jokes

3 MAY 2024 · Robin Williams may have been a talented performer with a long career full of highlights, but this Happy Days episode (which was one his first Hollywood appearances) leaves a bit to be desired Apparently Ritchie is convinced he saw a flying saucer but no one will believe him! The good news is he was ultimately right, and the pilot of that saucer just so happens to be looking for him. Of course the pilot is revealed to be Mork from Ork (of Mork and Mindy fame), who is an alien with a weird sense of humor and a lot of zany energy The story takes a turn for the worse when Mork reveals he'll be taking Ritchie back to Ork to experiment on, but fortunately for our hero he's got a fighting ace up his sleeve... THE FONZ

25 APR 2024 · It’s time to put on your coolest leather jacket and join the Boob Tube Boys in the swingin’ 1970s! Err… the 50s rather… whatever, it’s a show about Happy Days That’s right, Happy Days. Not Sad Days, not Favorable Days, not Jocular Days, and certainly not Infuriated Days, it’s Happy Days! That’s show where Henry Winkler plays a young cool guy who says cool things and hangs out in a public bathroom a bunch. Of course it’s not just that, there’s also Ron Howard, a different red-headed guy with a big monster face, Scott Baio before all the weird stuff, and Tom Bosley’s big floppy face! Today’s episode features a cameo from Laverne and Shirley of Laverne and Shirley fame as Fonzie decides to set Ron Howard up on a double date since he’s been struggling to get laid recently only wackiness ensues and some minor issues crop up. Happy Days!

18 APR 2024 · The BTBs finish talking about Family Matters with an episode chock full of hunks, low-stakes deception, and wholesome parenting. That's not all, though, because it's time for the second annual Boob Tube Boys Hall of Fame Ceremony!  Laura is tired of her friends sassing her for following the rules, so she decides to join the cheerleading team at Club Buff, a male strip club that turns out to be a frequent stop for Mother Winslow. Steve tries to warn Laura she might get caught, while Carl remains secure in his wife's devotion to him Later, Spencer introduces the next show the podcast will tackle. Family Matters coverage begins with a bang, as Steve Urkel infiltrates a local gang with a surprisingly talented artist in its midst Brian, Spencer, and Van discuss their childhood hours spent with Family Matters, how Urkel's antics hijacked a show that was supposed to be centered around Reginald Vel Johnson, and what sorts of magazines Mother Winslow was reading in 1991. It's a rare condition, this day and age, for a podcast to be this good!
