The Roar - A Southland sporting podcast

  • Ep 14 - The Roar with Atipa Mabonga & Josh Burnett

19 JUN 2024 · From Otautau to the Kansas City Chiefs and two SuperBowl rings. It's not a well-worn path but that's the journey former Southland athletics star Atipa Mabonga has been on over the last few years. Over the weekend she received her second ring at a glittering ceremony following the Chiefs dramatic overtime win in one of world sport's biggest occasions. We use that as the excuse to talk through her incredible story and get an idea what being part of the NFL's biggest stage is like and we do a deep dive into Taylor Swift, the Kelce brothers, Patrick Mahones and a whole lot more. Then we take a trip to Quebec where Southland's Josh Burnett claimed an incredible victory in the Tour de Beauce, one of North America's most sought-after cycling titles.
